As head of editorial content at Vogue Spain, Inés Lorenzo regularly supports homegrown talent. Since taking up the mantle of the Spanish fashion bible in 2021, Lorenzo has endorsed the likes of Penélope Cruz, Rosalía, Sara Caballero, Bad Gyal, and Ester Expósito as cover stars. Up next on the cover of Vogue Spain is Úrsula Corderó. The Spanish actress now has three Spanish Vogue covers under her belt, the last being for the September 2023 edition. Two years later, and Úrsula graces the lens of photographer Elizaveta Porodina for the May 2025 issue. Styled by Helena Tejedor, Corderó gazes down Porodina’s masterful lens wearing pieces from Demna’s Spring 2025 Balenciaga collection in the vintage-inspired cover photograph.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Out of the three Spanish Vogue covers Úrsula Corberó has had, this is by far the strongest. I love the vintage vibes, and the colors. There appears to be some thought having gone into this,” appreciated vogue28.

“I love Elizaveta Porodina’s work. Absolutely flawless and magical. Always,” Deleted Member 164735 declared.

Yet not everyone was so forthcoming. “To be honest, I actually like Elizaveta’s work, but there are times when it’s impossible to defend. That hair looks like someone bit it and a piece is missing,” critiqued DK92.

“In Elizaveta’s defense, I think that comes more from the editorial decision/masthead design. If the G wasn’t placed as it is, the eye would easily register the missing hair as blocked by the ragged edge of the hole,” responded forum member tigerrouge.

Today, the world of fashion is digesting the news of Pierpaolo Piccioli becoming Balenciaga creative director – with the guessing game coming to an abrupt halt. The post has been vacant subsequent to Demna switching houses to save Gucci (following the not-so-unexptected departure of Sabato De Sarno in February). Demna will present his final Balenciaga collection in July during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week – with Piccioli taking the reins July 10. The Italian designer joins the Spanish Paris-based fashion house after parting ways with Valentino in early 2024, having served as creative director for 25 years. The revered designer joins Balenciaga at a challenging moment for parent company Kering, who reported a 14% year-on-year decline in first quarter sales to €3.9bn.

Balenciaga Appoints Pierpaolo Piccioli Creative Director

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Girl simply what? Why wouldn’t they put him at Gucci and Demna at Balenciaga? This makes no sense.” [cheapthrills]

“I am going to give him a chance, but as I was expecting, I am disappointed in this appointment. Congratulations to him anyway.” [Salvatore]

“All I’m gonna say is: LOL Kering CEOs really want to see the ship sink!” [Creative]

“Very pleasantly surprised at the negative reactions here, to be completely honest. IMO, any creative director is better than the trite Demna served up at Balenciaga. All I require from Pierpaolo Piccioli is for him to inject some glamour, elegance, and sophistication back into Balenciaga.” [vogue28]

“I personally was wishing for Pieter [Mulier] or Daniel [Rsoeberry] cause I find them more exciting fashion-wise, but this makes sense. Balenciaga desperately needed someone that would clean up the house, and bring some class back. Pierpaolo is a perfect person to do that. I can’t wait to see what he does for couture there.” [Marc10]

“The good thing is that it cannot get worse than Demna’s regurgitations.” [VogueDisciple93]

“I kinda optimistic about it!” [pryvli]

You might not need reminding that Balenciaga is without a creative director, and an announcement of a new visionary for the Paris-based fashion house is imminent. In March (following the not-so-unexpected exit of Sabato De Sarno at Gucci), Demna ultimately became Gucci creative director. As a result, the Georgian designer leaves his post at Balenciaga, scheduled to present his final collection in July during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week. Previous creative directors of Balenciaga (founded in 1917 by Cristóbal Balenciaga) include Michel Goma (1987-1992), Josephus Thimister (1992-1997) Nicolas Ghesquière (1997-2012), and Alexander Wang (2013-2015). Currently without a job within the world of fashion are John Galliano, Hedi Slimane, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Kim Jones – the list goes on. Who will be the next Balenciaga creative director is the question on everyone’s lips.

Who Is the Next Balenciaga Creative Director?

Revisit the Balenciaga Winter 2025 Collection:

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Galliano x Balenciaga would be nice if we could get the fresh and dynamic Galliano from Dior early 2000s. No one really wants the autopilot burnout Galliano from the early 2010s.” [FashionPower]

“Seriously speaking, it has to be Daniel [Roseberry]. It’s a perfect match. Just imagining what he would cook up with the archives is already making me dream. Make Balenciaga Great Again!” [Marc10]

“Pieter Mulier for Balenciaga would be fantastic!” [cheapthrills]

“Give me Pierpaolo Piccioli and I’ll be happy. However, seeing Roseberry and Mulier I wouldn’t be disappointed.” [fashionlov]

“I want Claire Waight Keller for Balenciaga. She was done so dirty by Givenchy and LMVH, but we still have her to thank for one of the best HC shows of the past decade or so (not that there’s been a lot of competition).” [fruitdots]

“Please let it be someone who can respect the craft of couture and make us dream again. I can’t stand the disgusting streetwear that the brand has become known for.” [IsabelMarantBoy]

“I can only see Kanye taking over with the current direction they are going…” [GreyVetiver]

“I really don’t care who goes where by now. I am so tired.” [Salvatore]

Claire Thomson-Jonville continues to demonstrate she knows a thing or two about securing the crème de la crème from the world of modeling for the front covers of Vogue France. Thomson-Jonville took up the top job at the French fashion bible late last year, having replaced Eugénie Trochu, and has since welcomed the likes of Loli Bahia, Natasha Poly, and Vittoria Ceretti as cover girls. Up next on the cover of Vogue France are Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, and Lara Stone. The girls are placed before the lens of Mario Sorrenti, with Vogue France’s newly-appointed fashion and image director at large Alastair McKimm reporting for styling duties. Across three covers, the industry favorites pose on location in Paris, decked out in a trio of looks from Demna’s Balenciaga Spring 2025 collection.

“They get the legends for the covers, and this is what they come up with?” asked Mrs.T immediately upon checking out French Vogue‘s latest.

“This is a waste. Of time, of talents, of money, of location. It’s annoying. It’s trash,” scolded Lola701.

“Hate all the covers. I’d call them ‘glorified selfies’, but that’s precisely what these shots are. Lazy,” Squizree critiqued.

Avonlea commented: “Awful. They look like Photoshopped shots from a photocall before a show!”

“Horrible covers. They look like they’re mourning. Maybe mourning their days back in the 00s,” noted a disapproving svpernova.

“This is so bad,” forum member caioherrero cried out.

Issue 6.5 and Issue 7 went to Rihanna while Selena Gomez graced Issue 7.5. Kim Kardashian is the latest superstar to grace the cover of Perfect magazine. “It all seems so amateurish. Steven Klein hasn’t done anything really good or exceptional in years,” immediately critiqued DK92.

“I hate when Klein’s work looks like it was taken with a phone camera and edited in VSCO,” chimed in an underwhelmed Avonlea.

Sharing the same sentiments was berbe. “The first cover really giving 2017 iPhonegraphy,” echoed berbe.

“Never minded the sight of Kim Kardashian on the covers of magazines but this is embarrassing, and really wasn’t necessary. Three truly hideous covers – horribly photographed by Steven Klein and horribly styled by Jahleel Weaver,” voiced vogue28.

“I like the covers but the first one with the hat is stunning,” admired MModa.

“Oh actually the first cover with the hat is gorgeous and is giving MOTHER!” proseccotabis exclaimed.

That’s a complete wrap on Paris Fashion Week, with the 9-day fashion extravaganza coming to one almighty close last night following a megawatt presentation from Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent. Vaccarello was tasked with closing out The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s schedule and amped up the drama with a “fantastically 80s” collection.

Earlier in the week, the second portion of Paris Fashion Week served up the Fall 2025 collection of Victoria Beckham, who presented a collection that focused on form-fitting dresses and strong tailoring. This season, the Hermès woman got tougher while Elie Saab was all about après-ski glamour. Statement fur was seen on coats, boots, headpieces, and bags. At the Galerie de Géologie et de Minéralogie, Seán McGirr explored the relationship of English urban life and the great outdoors for McQueen.

Now onto his fifth Valentino collection, Alessandro Michele insisted his models strut a red-tiled runway, decked out in extravagant gowns, embellished suits and lace headpieces. At Balenciaga, Demna served up everything from floor-length hoodies and officecore looks to bathrobes and sportswear-inspired looks. Nicolas Ghesquière once again tapped into the traveling spirit of Louis Vuitton while Miuccia Prada sought inspiration from the 1950s for Miu Miu.

From the last ready-to-wear collection by the Chanel in-house design studio (before Matthieu Blazy‘s debut in October) to Harris Reed now onto his fifth season as the creative force behind Nina Ricci – scroll further for part two of theFashionSpot’s highlights of Paris Fashion Week Fall 2025:

Vittoria Ceretti exuded glitz and glamour while attending the Balenciaga Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week. The Italian model opted for a completely sheer ensemble to watch the presentation of the new collection at Les Invalides in Paris on March 9. As it was, Ceretti was truly dazzling in a runway look from the fashion house.

Vittoria Ceretti turned heads in a completely sheer outfit while attending the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week. The 26-year-old dazzled in a look from the fashion house’s Summer 25 collection. Ceretti wore Balenciaga’s Embroidered Fitted Shirt in black flower lace. The full-sleeved piece included a black embroidered collar, button placket, and cuffs.

The see-through piece featured an 8-button front, buttoned cuffs, and a rounded bottom. The runway look also included the brand’s Embroidered Lace Pants in black lace embroidery featuring an elasticized waistband. The sheer ensemble further added some coverage with Balenciaga’s Trompe l’oeil Pantaleggings T36 in black lingerie and light beige stretch fabric. This included high-waisted pants with shoes attached — an elongated pointed-toe pair.

The trompe l’oeil look came with lingerie and skin effects. The full-sleeved illusion piece consisted of detailings to form a lacy bodysuit, garter belt, and thigh-high stockings. Furthermore, Ceretti coordinated her monochrome look with Balenciaga’s Rodeo Sling Pochette in black that featured aged-gold hardware. As for her glam, the runway star rocked subtle eyeshadow, mascara, blush, and a peachy shade of glossy lips.

Ceretti pulled her hair back in a long braid with a middle parting to round off the look. Moreover, the model ditched the jewels for the occasion to keep the spotlight on her attention-commanding ensemble. After attending the fashion show, Ceretti even recapped her time in Paris and flaunted the Balenciaga look with her new photos carousel on Instagram.

Forum Members Review the Balenciaga Fall 2025 Collection From Demna
IMAGES | VOGUE.COM

The Fall 2025 season of Paris Fashion Week rages on, with tonight granting us the Balenciaga Fall 2025 collection from Demna. The Georgian designer has been the creative force behind Balenciaga since 2015 (succeeding Alexander Wang), and renewed his contract (for an unspecified time) with the Kering-owned fashion house in October 2024. This season, Demna set his latest showcase to a soundtrack of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Models emerged from backstage and stormed down a lengthy black runway, decked out in an array of buzz-worthy looks. Demna served up everything from floor-length hoodies and officecore looks to bathrobes and sportswear-inspired looks (giving us our first glimpse at the Balenciaga x Puma collab).

Balenciaga Fall 2025 Collection Review

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“The worst runway walks I’ve ever seen…” [prylvi]

“Wow. I don’t like it at all. Repetitive, not memorable. First years were much better, but now… back then even if you don’t like the aesthetic, there were hit products. Now it’s just… generic to me.” [RosesAreRed]

“I would have walked out after the first 3 outfits. What a waste of time. He didn’t even bother with theatrics this time.” [Avonlea]

“God it was so bad! Literally nothing original.” [Simera]

“The packable puffers and the Puma tracksuits was the most pedestrian proposition I’ve ever seen on the runway. This wasn’t like The Row where they’re showing basics styled in an interesting way; it was a Dick’s Sporting Goods catalog at best.” [ecnerretneerg]

“This feels like a step backwards after last season’s flirtations with boudoir fetish. I’m sure that upon close inspection things aren’t exactly what they ‘seam’ but as a spectacle, especially watching from a screen, it feels drab and dour.” [Delleone]

“Maybe the worst Balenciaga collection from the last twenty years, and that includes Alexander Wang’s tenure.” [Monsieur Cristobal]

“This reaaaallly feels like a swan song…” [justpassingthrough]

It’s not every month that Vogue Thailand takes our fancy here at theFashionSpot. The last time the magazine (which came to fruition in 2013) commanded our attention was the July 2024 edition, starring a selection of Olympic hopefuls as cover stars. Fast forward several months and Thai Vogue has our attention all the same. Fronting the 12th anniversary cover of Vogue Thailand for February 2025 is Sara Grace Wallerstedt. The ethereal American model gazes down the lens of photographer Aekarat Ubonsri for the occasion, complete with Jongkol Palarit on styling duties. Covers of British Vogue don’t quite hit like they once did when Edward Enninful was at the helm. Despite a whole slew of questionable covers over recent months, Chioma Nnadi continues to secure A-list talent for the magazine. Everyone from Zendaya and Kylie Jenner to Florence Pugh and Renée Zellweger have become cover girls lately. Added to the list for March 2025 is Tyla, who graces the latest cover of British Vogue. The chart-topping South African Grammy Award-winning singer poses for Rafael Pavarotti as she makes her debut Vogue cover appearance. Dressed by stylist George Krakowiak, Tyla works Pavarotti’s lens wearing a look from Demna’s Balenciaga Spring 2025 collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“The cover looks very ELLE. Actually, that’s an insult to ELLE. Nothing about this magazine feels elevated anymore – it’s become utterly generic,” critiqued LastNight.

“Honestly? I expected better given the fact Rafael Pavarotti is involved. He can deliver such wonderful cover imagery, and this just ain’t it. Despite the bold colors, the cover feels… empty, static, and lifeless. Indeed getting British ELLE vibes from this,” vogue28 chimed in.

“I just winced. A lovely girl but not March cover-worthy. Also, we need to find a budget somewhere. These solid color backdrops are not it,” scolded Lucien112.

Also underwhelmed was matheus_s. “Jesus. The blue is a BIG NO,” they disapproved.

“There’s a lot of empty space that doesn’t serve the image. Maybe it’s the color – if the background was lighter, would it feel ‘airy’? Instead, we have this block color that feels more like a barrier. The blue doesn’t feel energizing, hopeful, or enticing,” shared tigerrouge.
