You just have to hand it to Inma Jimenez Mateos of Harper’s Bazaar Spain, who sure does have an impressive knack for securing the crème de la crème from the world of fashion and beyond as the magazine’s cover stars. Over recent months alone, the likes of Gal Gadot, Cate Blanchett, Elizabeth Hurley, Constance Jablonski, Eva Herzigova, and Jessica Chastain have covered the Spanish fashion title. Up next on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Spain is Carla Bruni. Captured by photographer Philip Gay, the Italian-born French model (and former First Lady of France) stars across a twosome of covers. On styling duties for the occasion was Bazaar Spain’s fashion editor Claudia Laukamp, who pulled looks from Nina Ricci and Louis Vuitton for Bruni to showcase in the two cover photographs (in addition to a selection of jewelry pieces from Bulgari).

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Two covers, and why do her fingers have to be on her mouth? The second one could’ve been good,” immediately called out WAVES upon checking out the covers.

“WTF! Why the fingers on both covers?” asked forum member Xone in complete agreement.

“It reminds me of when someone is trying to cover up a cold sore ,” voiced VanillaCrush. “Despite that, I absolutely love the cover with her in yellow. It’s perfect for April!”.

Oaklee91 declared: “What a letdown!”

“The second cover (with Carla in the Louis Vuitton) should’ve been the only cover. The first just feels… stupid. What an unattractive shot. The fingers over her month, and not even looking out toward us irks me to no end,” commented vogue28.

That’s a complete wrap on Paris Fashion Week, with the 9-day fashion extravaganza coming to one almighty close last night following a megawatt presentation from Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent. Vaccarello was tasked with closing out The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s schedule and amped up the drama with a “fantastically 80s” collection.

Earlier in the week, the second portion of Paris Fashion Week served up the Fall 2025 collection of Victoria Beckham, who presented a collection that focused on form-fitting dresses and strong tailoring. This season, the Hermès woman got tougher while Elie Saab was all about après-ski glamour. Statement fur was seen on coats, boots, headpieces, and bags. At the Galerie de Géologie et de Minéralogie, Seán McGirr explored the relationship of English urban life and the great outdoors for McQueen.

Now onto his fifth Valentino collection, Alessandro Michele insisted his models strut a red-tiled runway, decked out in extravagant gowns, embellished suits and lace headpieces. At Balenciaga, Demna served up everything from floor-length hoodies and officecore looks to bathrobes and sportswear-inspired looks. Nicolas Ghesquière once again tapped into the traveling spirit of Louis Vuitton while Miuccia Prada sought inspiration from the 1950s for Miu Miu.

From the last ready-to-wear collection by the Chanel in-house design studio (before Matthieu Blazy‘s debut in October) to Harris Reed now onto his fifth season as the creative force behind Nina Ricci – scroll further for part two of theFashionSpot’s highlights of Paris Fashion Week Fall 2025:

On January 29, Anya Taylor-Joy was a stunner in the Tiffany & Co. event’s photos. She brought Old Hollywood glam to the intimate affair, looking gorgeous in a lacy fit. However, her fascinator stole the show at the soirée, which also made use of intricate lace. The all-black ensemble seamlessly brought together elements of retro glam and contemporary edginess, ensuring the star served drama at the Tiffany Titan celebration.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Tiffany look is one for the books

One can always count on Anya Taylor-Joy to bring unique yet chic looks to the table. The actor’s recent Paris photos prove she knows how to make a fashion statement wherever she goes. On Wednesday, she attended an event to celebrate the Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection. After making a chic appearance at the Paris Fashion Week front row, she continued her stylish streak at the Tiffany & Co. soirée.

According to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, the star stunned in a minidress that was part of the Nina Ricci Spring-Summer 2025 collection. The illusion lace piece was truly a moment, keeping it sexy yet sophisticated for the intimate affair. The dress featured a drop waist, with the bodice hugging Anya’s curves beautifully. The design also came with a flouncy skater skirt and a short train that made the silhouette all the more intriguing.

However, the highlight of the look was the black fascinator from the same Nina Ricci collection. She borrowed the styling from the runway look but swapped out the lacy tights for a pair of sheer black ones. The actor also paired the chic fit with a pair of pumps from Christian Louboutin. Moreover, in the photos of her leaving the Tiffany & Co. event, Anya Taylor-Joy was spotted wearing a wool coat to beat the winter chill in Paris.

The look wouldn’t be complete without fitting hair and makeup. For the event, the star opted for an elegant chignon. Her striking blonde hair was neatly tucked away in an updo to highlight her all-black ensemble. She also kept her makeup simple yet classic, going for a winged liner look and nude pink lip shade. Anya kept her bling minimal yet elegant as well, opting for the classic pairing of black with white pearls. She went with a freshwater pearl choker necklace and a coordinating set of diamond earrings with drop pearls from Tiffany & Co.

It has become somewhat of a tradition for us here at theFashionSpot to throw it back a whole decade, on the eve of each fashion week. You’ve encountered our New York, London and Milan installments and now it’s time to head back to the Spring 2015 season of Paris Fashion Week.

Sarah Burton was the creative force behind Alexander McQueen in the September of 2014, offering up a collection based on her very own treasured collection of antique kimonos and intricate fabric swatches. Cropped jackets and asymmetrical mini skirts had a rock ‘n’ roll sensibility at Anthony Vaccarello’s showcase and a sporty vibe oozed from Alexander Wang’s monochromatic Balenciaga collection. Riccardo Tisci sent out a gang of his model muses decked out into corsets, leather pants and thigh-high boots at Givenchy. Simon Porte Jacquemus transformed his runway into a beach scene, complete with parasols, deck chairs and the sound of waves crashing for his Spring 2015 nautical-inspired collection. Hedi Slimane continued to display his love for all-things glam rock at Saint Laurent while the late Karl Lagerfeld staged a protest at the Chanel show, complete with models (like Cara Delevingne and Gisele Bundchen) shouting through megaphones.

In the eyes of ALL of us here at theFashionSpot, supermodels will always and forever a good idea. Whether it’s Linda Evangelista wonderfully reuniting with Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia or Naomi Campbell cropping up on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar – we will always approve. Therefore, you can imagine our absolute delight to see Claudia Schiffer turn up as Vogue Arabia’s September 2024 cover star. Manuel Arnaut shares our love for supermodels, having welcomed the likes of Cindy Crawford and Iman onto the Arabian fashion title in the past. This month, across a trio of collectable covers, Claudia takes to Kayt Jones’ photographic duo and is styled by Barbara Baumel in an array of tailored looks from Karl Lagerfeld, Nina Ricci and Sportmax.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Wasted potential. The fonts are enormously awful and distracting,” immediately critiqued lanvinray.

“They are okay. Just a bit weird with the positioning. I prefer the first cover,” shared oaklee91.

“Love the second cover, the first one does not say ‘cover’ to me,” Bertrando3 pointed out.

Kokobombon commented: “I actually prefer third cover over the others. The styling and posing works but none are great!”

“These covers… amateur hour! Poor Claudia,” sighed forum member thenewclassic.

WAVES wasn’t best impressed either. “I find all covers underwhelming, considering Vogue Arabia’s glamorous take on most of their cover subject. This kinda falls a wee flat,” they disapproved.

“It’s all just very stiff, which is such a shame because I love me some Claudia Schiffer and enjoy Vogue Arabia on the regular. I’m putting the blame on Kayt Jones, whose photography is just feels very flat and amateur. For me, the second cover with the Nina Ricci is the strongest,” voiced vogue28.

Twenty six days, four fashion capitals, one almighty season – and that’s a wrap on Paris Fashion Week!

At the start of the PFW festivities, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode looked toward Maria Grazia Chiuri at Christian Dior to kick things into high gear, who zeroed in on the maison’s history, in particular the legacy of Marc Bohan (and the launch of the Miss Dior line in 1967). Also staging their showcase on day one was Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello, who stripped down his Saint Laurent woman to the bare essentials, dressing his femme fatales in sheer pencil skirts, blouses and statement killer heels. Models at Courrèges navigated the Carreau du Temple as a fabric floor rose and feel to the sounds of heavy breathing, working Nicolas Di Felice’s sexy collection of geometric cuts. Later on during day three, Dries Van Noten showed a collection that was both eclectic and wearable while trench coats and sculptural silhouettes reigned supreme at Olivier Rousteing‘s Balmain presentation.

Rick Owens’ Fall 2024 collection was inspired by his upbringing and love of opera – using recycled materials to create shaggy coats, spacesuits and his signature voluminous silhouettes. Chemena Kamali was soon making her highly-anticipated debut as Chloé creative director, strongly influenced by the 70s Karl Lagerfeld era of the brand for a collection boasting natural femininity, sensuality, power, liberation, and declaring the return of boho-chic. While the industry awaits a new Givenchy creative director to be named, the design studio took the reins once again this season. For Rabanne, Julien Dossena outlined an eclectic wardrobe of pony hair outerwear and faux-cheetah shearlings, layered over knitwear, handkerchief skirts and blouses. Over on Place Vendôme, Daniel Roseberry presented his prêt-à-porter collection for Schiaparelli, featuring embellished dresses, ties made of braided hair and all-star model lineup.

Jonathan Anderson, who has a distinctive talent for transforming to ordinary into the extraordinary opened up Friday’s slot, with his latest Loewe collection inspired by the work of American landscape artist Albert York. Guram Gvasalia unveiled a supersized collection of dramatic streetwear at Vetements while Victoria Beckham attempted to re-examine and transform the silhouette at the core of her brand. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski at Hermès took a cue from the Parisian weather and started a literal rainfall inside, as models walked the slick runway in an array of chocolate, burgundy and sun-kissed sand colors. Anger management meet avant-garde at Comme des Garçons and it was soon time for us to bare witness to Seán McGirr‘s (highly-criticized) debut at Alexander McQueen. The Irish designer invited us inside a vast industrial space on the outskirts of Paris, who had drew upon McQueen’s early collections to bestow upon us body-engulfing knitwear and razor-sharp tailoring.

Demna set the Balenciaga runway inside a room completely surrounded by ginormous screens on all sides. The Georgian designer took dust bags, backpacks, nylon gym bags and reimagined them into tops, skirts and dresses and a finale dress completely constructed entirely out of repurposed lingerie. Mid-afternoon on day seven, Pierpaolo Piccioli decided to reduce his palette exclusively to black while Casey Cadwallader presented a Mugler collection full of drama, energy and unapologetic sexiness from models like Natasha Poly, Irina Shayk and Eva Herzigova.

Kicking off the final day of Paris Fashion Week, as per usual, was Chanel. Rich with Parisian chic influences and full of the fabled French fashion house’s signature codes like tweed and the iconic flap handbag, Virginie Viard‘s collection was a love letter to the seaside resort of Deauville. Miuccia Prada’s cast of women including Kristin Scott Thomas and Ángela Molina at Miu Miu sported Miuccia’s wardrobe staples for the modern-day girl about town. Closing out the PFW festivities in sensational style was Nicolas Ghesquière, with his dazzlingly futuristic 10th anniversary showcase for Louis Vuitton at the Cour Carrée du Louvre.

Needless to say, the Fall 2024 season of Paris Fashion Week lived up to the hype. Scroll further for all the hits and misses of PFW, all in accordance with theFashionSpot’s loyal army of unfiltered fashion critics:

HIT | Valentino

“It’s an exquisite, elegant and luxurious collection. I think that’s what Maison Valentino has always been about so for me this presentation was definitely an achievement. There’s nothing new but we can see an interesting play with shapes, lengths and fabrics. all the lace looked sumptuous! Also, I absolutely love all-black outfits and looks so this was personally, a treat.” [WAVES]

“J’adore! Beeeeaaautiful garments, great casting and everything looked expensive!” [Ihhbl]

“Those black patent 80’s pump! Heavenly! I didn’t expect much from him but it was such a nice surprise. A very beautiful collection! It was insanely glamorous, diverse and grown up. That’s what I’m looking for!
I really love the wardrobe approach and there are some exquisite pieces. Bravo PPP!” [Lola701]

MISS | Alexander McQueen

IMAGE | VOGUE

“What a very bland, generic collection. Nothing stands out, it’s all so painfully forgettable. Even at their worst, Sarah and Lee had exquisite tailoring to back them up. This doesn’t look exquisite. And of course, not much McQueen to be seen here. Any attempts at interpreting McQueen silhouettes fail to impress me. I really wanted to like this, but McGirr’s first attempt was a massive non-event. The show isn’t over yet and I can’t for the life of me remember a single good look I’ve seen in the past ten minutes.” [aracic]

“I was not prepared for how psychotic this made me feel. I’m gonna be sick.” [sussieinmcswanny]

HIT | Chloé

“Looooove it! It has the Chloé energy from the early 2000! Very well made, the three last dresses are sooo beautiful. Easy, uncomplicated, unpretentious, cool, and the colors are nice – we needed that! Bravo Chemena! Chloé is BACK!” [Creative]

“Amazing debut ! Chloé is back. Last time it was interesting was when Natasha took the helm. Minus the bags, I enjoyed everything! Well Done!” [GivenchyAddict]

“So gentle and romantic. After Hearst’s overly serious tenure, I’m so grateful for the return of flou and soft colors. Very strong debut and a potential redemption arc for Chloé!” [LadyJunon]

HIT | Hermès

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“A beautiful well-built collection. These are all coherent looks a woman can just wear off the runway. Hermès value is its plug-and-play sophistication. The Hermès customer wants to put no work into looking like they shop in Paris and only buy the best.” [Nimsay]

“It’s all just so consistently flawless, sleek, streamlined, immaculate, wearable, expensive-looking and extremely well made that I can never bring myself to dislike a Hermès collection – and this season is certainly no different. Gorgeous color palette, fabrics and textures.” [vogue28]

“It’s all about conservative quality with this house for me. The fabrics look truly exquisite and the construction is immaculate.” [GoldenPetals]

MISS | Balenciaga

“The oversized trend sort of annoys me more than Y2K. Those big shoulders really need to go. When the show started I thought it was solid but then it got progressively worse… what a nightmare! If Demna has to stay, then he has to do formal/evening wear only.” [thiago]

“I can’t with this brand. It’s beyond old-fashioned and passé. The worst. I have the biggest prejudices against it.” [Creative]

MISS | Mugler

MISS | Ann Demeulemeester

MISS | Isabel Marant

“I swear I’ve been watching the same show for the past 5+ years. If I was a woman I’d be buying new Chloé…” [plentyofhorns]

“She clearly needs a reinvention, the clothes is not exciting, the brand image is getting stale. Maybe a different stylist/ art director to help to spice thing up.” [THD96]

MISS | Christian Dior

“How far Dior has fallen. Totally forgettable collection, not a single memorable look and a mediocre cast. It all blends into one big blur.” [Deleted Member]

“Maria Grazia Chiuri REFUSES to have good taste.” [Salvatore]

“This collection is such a nasty surprise after the really nice Pre-Fall one! Of course the pieces are well-made, but everything feels empty and cold, despite the warm palette. Some of the silhouettes are just too simple or too literal. And don’t get me started on the MISS DIOR lettering, which, of course, had to be repeated on too many looks…” [perhydrol]

HIT | Yohji Yamamoto

“Truly stunning. Seriously can’t stop looking at this collection. This is how you do real punk, kids, unlike any Hedi Slimane or Marc Jacobs take on it. I feel it like a contemporary, more sculptural Vivienne Westwood.” [philophile]

“Yohji is still THE master cutter. And the plaid looks are just so beautiful!” [notfatgoddess]

MISS | Vetements

“You can really sense the desperation in this one.” [youthinasia]

“This is just atrocious and a complete eyesore, who is even buying this sh!t anymore? Swimming in fabric and having no neck is not a look.” [disco54]

“So tired, so passe. Everything looks so dated at this point.” [tourbillions]

HIT | Saint Laurent

“Impressive and so structural, so many great ideas!” [dontbeadrag]

“Stunning! It looks like a technical nightmare, very couture! I love it!” [Lola701]

” Absolute favorite Fall 2024 collection so far. From ANY city. This is how architectural beauty looks like. Best thing I’ve seen in years. This sh*t is iconic. This is like the equivalent of wearing a Zaha Hadid building.” [philophile]

MISS | Victoria Beckham

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Completely faceless. She’s a poor woman’s Philo.” [GoldenPetals]

“Annoying design gimmicks added to otherwise bland separates. No one needs a blazer the color of putrid egg nog with a dislodged lapel and an upturned hem. It doesn’t make sense.” [Kennnnn]

“All of her collections are just so… there. The wallflower of shows.” [Machinegumm]

See all the looks from the Victoria Beckham Fall 2024 collection.

MISS | Nina Ricci

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Irrelevant and amateur.” [GivenchyHomme]

“I’m sorry but mixture of Chanel knock-off and Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent with a sprinkle of Vauthier is not going to help to bring Nina Ricci back into the fashion conversation. The fabrics choice just screams Project Runway to me.” [THD96]

“What a mess.” [WAVES]

HIT | Carven

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Elegant and chic but with a twist.” [WAVES]

“The attitude of the collection feels very relaxed. Great individual pieces combined with sublime styling from Suzanne Koller. It’s just a chef kiss. I like the direction Louis Trotter is going for Carven.” [THD96]

“A lot of the shapes reference 1950s couture, done in a contemporary way.” [Kennnnn]

HIT | Issey Miyake

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Wonderful! This look is the epitome of elegance. I see Fashion with a capital F!” [thiago]

“It’s quite fabulous! Everything works! Even teal which isn’t the most forgiving color is working here. Those prints are fabulous too.” [Lola701]

“A masterclass of volume, draping, layering, texture, and color. Bravo! The final four looks are stunning. The flow is a unique sense of pure chic.” [TerraVera]

MISS | Rick Owens

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Meh, it feels like another collection designed for social media stunts.” [thiago]

“How depressing it must have been for people to get up early on a Thursday morning to go to this show. I only wish they were lucky enough to have gone to Chloé later that day.” [Kennnnn]

“Boring. Some of the knit dresses are fine, but it’s all so boring. Dare I say, reserved. It’s like he’s tempered or meditative, so this is all we’re gonna get. Cold, stale crumbs.” [TerraVera]

HIT | Rabanne

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Julien Dossena, you are the best! So stunning. Hands down my favorite show in Paris.” [Kanzai]

“I love how consistent he is. Another great collection, rich in textures and colors. I’d love to touch everything!” [thiago]

“Fabulous collection! I love how he is pushing the needle in terms of taste but it still feels familiar. It’s just enough. Marie-Amelie Sauvé must have fun styling it because she delivered! Great shoes and fantastic bags!” [Lola701]

See all the looks from the Rabanne Fall 2024 collection.

HIT | Balmain

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“My favorite show Olivier Rousteing has done in a while. I loved the fruit prints and aesthetic for the most part (not really as jewelry), it felt more warm and motherly to me rather than matronly and out of touch. Quite an endearing collection.” [Nader]

“Good cast! I love when designers use actual women as models instead of 15-year-olds.” [plentyofhorns]

“I don’t mind this at all. he does best when he’s honest and right here he is unabashedly frank and playing to his strengths.” [TerraVera]

See all the looks from the Balmain Fall 2024 collection.

HIT | Dries Van Noten

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“A beautiful collection giving a feeling of purity. Nothing was excessive. No one works colors like Dries does.” [IloveDiorHomme]

“He is so unique it’s remarkable. His playfulness with pastels on the first part of the collection is impressive, as it is always his work with colors, then moving forward to earthier, darker tones and to finalize pops of bright pink and lilac! Stunning!” [WAVES]

“He. Always. Delivers.” [AnaD]

MISS | Off-White

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Overstimulating and ugly.” [AnaD]

“I don’t feel like this is connecting with anyone. A waste of resources. Ib Kamara is probably a talented stylist but not a designer. It’s totally disconnected from the hip-hop culture and looks like a styling exercise.” [Lola701]

“This is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.” [90sFan]

HIT | Courrèges

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“Ooh, I quite enjoyed this. It’s very sleek and sexy and confident, which hasn’t really been a part of this season’s conversation anywhere.” [Mr-Dale]

“Despite the unusual pocket placement, the collection is still very strong. The sleek designs, strong cuts, and perfect styling by Marie Chaix really enhance the collection. The outerwear are the strongest and my favorite looks.” [THD96]

“The soundtrack slapped and the casting slayed as always.” [LadyJunon]

See all the looks from the Courrèges Fall 2024 collection.

MISS | Chanel

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“The hats and boots only made it worse.” [Mrs.T]

“Virginie Viard’s Chanel is so limited. This is giving more Loewe pre-Jonathan Anderson than Chanel. The clothes are not beautiful nor flattering.” [tourbillions]

“Vile. One of Viard’s worst collections indeed (not that the rest were good by any mean). I’m shocked bosses at Chanel are OK with her shows. This brand has gone from the top of the top to the most absolute irrelevance. I am sorry for Virginie, because she’s lovely, but she has no talent to be a creative director.” [Creative]

HIT | Louis Vuitton

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT

“The set is everything.” [matheus_s]

“This is fabulous! I can always count on Nicolas to do the job and deliver. Maybe not the best collection of the season but these clothes have fashion energy and I can always appreciate that because it’s lacking so much in with other fashion houses.” [ghostwriter10549]

“It was such a great show! Full of references! The furry gloves he did at Balenciaga, the references to his own Vuitton collections! 10 years ago on the morning, we were excited for that new challenge for him and now 10 years later, at night we were celebrating his achievement. Fashion with a capital F! He is still the best ever for me! Stunning show, outstanding.” [Lola701]

“So beautiful, one of the best collections in Paris.” [Kanzai]

“I love Lutz, I’m always rooting for him and it’s so great that now he has the support of AZFactory/Richemont! This collection feels more elevated and it’s really great. His strongest definitely!” [Lola701]

That’s a wrap on Paris Fashion Week’s Spring 2024 season, and fashion month is now complete. 26 days, 4 fashion capitals, 2 continents and 1 whole season of pure fashion thrills, excitement, grand finales and fresh starts.
Opening up Paris was Peter Do, who ventured from New York to showcase his wears within the French capital for the very first time, delivering a collection of cropped blazers, deconstructed tailoring and sheer blouses. Next up was Maria Grazia Chiuri at Christian Dior, where the designer gave a stark (and slightly haunting) feminist statement in collaboration with artist Elena Bellantoni. Anthony Vaccarello was soon unveiling a re-do of the iconic safari look at Saint Laurent, first made famous by Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent back in 1968. The look was updated in the chicest way possible, with gloves, bangles, statement earrings and killer heels finishing off each look. At Courrèges, models walked on friable concrete and just two weeks after Balmain’s collection was stolen, Olivier Rousteing gave us a lesson in volume and sculpture (as well as… resilience). Chinos, denim and stripes were on the agenda at Dries Van Noten – “normal clothes” as the designer himself called them. For spring, Julien Dossena is dressing the Rabanne woman as a warrior, dripping in chain mail (because, what else?). Gabriela Hearst was soon taking her final bow (and dance cue) as creative director of Chloé, going out with a bang by finishing off the brand’s River Seine-set showcase with a live performance from Brazil’s legendary Mangueira samba school. Rick Owens made sure he gave us a show we won’t forget quickly, with models looking otherworldly in his designs, complete with fog cannons engulfing the Palais de Tokyo. Daniel Roseberry revisited an Elsa Schiaparelli signature: the lobster, asking Kendall Jenner to close his Schiaparelli offering wearing a full lacquered fingernail dress. At Loewe, Jonathan Anderson focused on altering proportions and Yohji Yamamoto proved black will always be in fashion. Tailoring met athleisure (and technology) at Coperni, models walked through a makeshift meadow at Hermès and a standing ovation was awarded to Sarah Burton as she rounded out her tenure at Alexander McQueen. Nicolas Ghesquière paid homage to the ultimate Parisian woman at Louis Vuitton, evoking Vuitton’s spirit of travel ideology and immersing guests within a room draped in vivid orange fabric. Mugler’s show wasn’t shy of Insta-worthy moments while the full genius of John Galliano was on display at Maison Margiela. Virginie Viard, always one to be rounding out the fashion festivities, foresees a youthful and optimistic spring season ahead, full of sequins, florals, lace and pastel-colored tweeds.

MISS | Schiaparelli

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I find it quite tacky and not fun at all. There are a lot of things I absolutely hate about it, from the pieces to the styling.” [Lola701]
“Yeah I think he went overboard with the camp. It looks a bit like glorified Moschino? I think that’s the audience he’s going for. People who want a traditional silhouette while still convincing themselves that they’re ‘mAkInG a StAteMeNt'” [GoldenPetals]
“The opening is the worst part. The unbuttoned skirts section was awful. The sliced skirt with bustier was terrible. The draped pieces were pretty good but the heavy fabrics weighed them down. [Nimsay]
See all the looks from the Schiaparelli Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Loewe

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Too much rinse and repeat.” [VERNIQUE]
“It leaves me cold. Maybe it’s the sterile presentation.” [avonlea002]
“First time I’m not feeling JW Anderson’s Loewe (his own collection did better). I guess I’m always expecting something a bit more complex from him and this felt very… light and simple? Boring would be the best word to me.” [thiago]
See all the looks from the Loewe Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Christian Cowan

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Please make it stop.” [gallianostan]
“Go back to New York this has nothing to do in Paris…” [badgalcrush]
“Its so easy to hate this. Pure trash clothing, stuff appears literally cobbled together. Stupid gimmicks shown multiple times for some reason. No actual fashion here.” [Nimsay]
See all the looks from the Christian Cowan Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Lanvin

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“This is sad to see. Really sad.” [Cocteau Stone]
“Did they just give up? This brand has fallen so far!” [GoldenPetals]
See all the looks from the Lanvin Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Rick Owens

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I’m such a sucker for his Dune/Cyberpunk aesthetic. I can’t help but love it. I love EVERY. SINGLE. THING.” [GoldenPetals]
“Extremely well made and intriguing. Love the colors as well.” [Ihhbl]
“I do love the boots. They are fab.” [TaylorBinque]
See all the looks from the Rick Owens Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Rabanne

IMAGE: VOGUE

“A strong combination of metal and finesse.” [VERNIQUE]
“It’s definitely the strongest Dossena’s collection at Rabanne so far. It’s such a fascinating collection.” [perhydrol]
“Damn. This is gorgeous. I think my favorite collection this whole season. What a great interpretation of Paco. I love how fantastical it is, while still being grounded and wearable. I can’t even decide on a favorite piece. But the one with the peacock feathers is truly something else.” [GoldenPetals]
See all the looks from the Rabanne Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Christian Dior

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I will not acknowledge a collection presented on that set.” [gazebo]
“How are Maria Grazia Chiuri’s clothes always so drab, ugly, and unappealing? And still with the slogans!” [MyNameIs]
“I HATE it when fashion houses shoehorn political theatrics into their show to dress up a collection that’s otherwise fine on its own. Here, it seems very forced and distracting because it’s so irrelevant.” [GoldenPetals]
See all the looks from the Christian Dior Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Alexander McQueen

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Damn I’m so emotional right now.” [prylvi]
“I love it. Fierce tailoring, so elegant. Great casting too.” [Not Plain Jane]
“It was an amazing farewell collection. Some pieces are stunning. The gold was a great surprise, the thick knitwear piece, the tailoring as always and that shade of red is perfect. The cast was also great. Well done, Sarah!” [WAVES]
See all the looks from the Alexander McQueen Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Givenchy

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I like it. Looked chic and some Givenchy codes were there. It’s a step up and I see some progress.” [Ihhbl]
“Probably Matthew Williams’ best collection. But something about the entire thing is timid and unconvincing. The chiffon draped dresses are pretty as well as the satin gown with the lace and chiffon.” [reese06]
“Did Williams get some ‘help’? A consultant designer perhaps? Because it’s the first time he fully understands what it means to be at Givenchy.” [yslforever]
See all the looks from the Givenchy Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Isabel Marant

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I find this collection terribly embarrassing…” [Lola701]
“Marant’s shows have looked the same to me for the past 8 years!” [plentyofhorns]
“Remarkably awful. The pace was sooo slow and everyone looked so miserable. What happened to Isabel Marant is really wild to me. Went from 100 to 0 real quick.” [TianCouture]
See all the looks from the Isabel Marant Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Saint Laurent

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Another sublime collection from Anthony Vaccarello, I’m a little lost for words.” [vogue28]
“A total YES for me. Amazing clothes, ultra luxurious, loyal to the brand identity but with a contemporary feeling.” [Ihhbl]
“Brilliant! What a sublime collection, sumptuous for the eyes. Its very mid 80s Rodeo Drive rich b!tch YSL but modernized in Vaccarello’s own way. Definitely one of the best shows of the season!” [disco54]
See all the looks from the Saint Laurent Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Peter Do

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I’m left feeling emotionless and uninspired.” [michael123]
“I must’ve deinfluenced myself because I’m not buying any of this anymore. Those pieces don’t really have their own identity and Peter doesn’t have an eye for colour. Every nice piece could be easily sourced elsewhere, probably with better quality.” [perhydrol]
“This looks very tortured and downright costume.” [Norden]
See all the looks from the Peter Do Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Hermès

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I love this, to me its the definition of quiet luxury.” [Urban Stylin]
“Impeccable, really.” [liberty33r1b]
“I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s so good, so luxurious and expensive. The leather work on the last looks is unretouchable. Great work and amazing casting!” [Ihhbl]
See all the looks from the Hermès Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Dries Van Noten

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I liked this. As a whole, this collection feels much closer in style and spirit to his work in the 1990s.” [Kennnnn]
“Lots of beautiful wearable pieces in this collection. Loved the colors and the styling.” [Ihhbl]
“Of course my man always delivers every season.” [Ruito]
See all the looks from the Dries Van Noten Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Balmain

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I like how completely different it is to the rest.” [Norden]
“I’m surprised by how much I like it. It was almost charming, and I can see myself wearing some pieces. Look 5 is a simple but fresh take on the three pieces suit. The green top with the pink pants is a fabulous look.” [Lola701]
“I liked it a lot. It’s not always right, sometimes bordering on costume but the craftsmanship is just incredible. Olivier Rousteing loves his job and it shows.” [avonlea002]
See all the looks from the Balmain Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Marni

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“When did Marni become so clownish? Most of this is extremely difficult to look at. Such poorly edited pieces.” [GoldenPetals]
“The most confusing runway presentation ever…” [Lola701]
“All the work Consuelo did to be undone by this fool [Francesco Risso] in a couple minutes. This brand is going to broke if it keeps churning this sh*t out.” [disco54]
See all the looks from the Marni Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Undercover

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“In love with every thing here…” [yslforever]
“Jun Takahashi ate and left no crumbs. Stunning!” [helmutnotdead]
“Really enjoy this. At parts, it felt like he took Raf SImons’ Dior but gave it some humor and character – which is a good thing to me.” [Overindulgence]
See all the looks from the Undercover Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Courrèges

IMAGE: VOGUE

“What a fantastic collection, loved it! Sharp lines, feminine silhouettes, original use of cut. Overall, super clean and sensual too. Well done!” [WAVES]
“Very into this collection! His design language is very interesting and I love seeing him grow! Good for Di Felice!” [thiago]
“Courrèges is so hot right now. Incredible collection.” [Nimsay]
See all the looks from the Courrèges Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Nina Ricci

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“The more I look the more low-budget it gets.” [GoldenPetals]
“Hard to believe that Nina Ricci had money to throw away on this. Clothes for influencers with no real style.” [reese06]
“I can’t in good faith bring myself to like this. At the end of the day, they’re still cheap drag costumes, and at the end of the day, Harris Reed is horrendously untalented and does not deserve this appointment.” [gallianostan]
See all the looks from the Nina Ricci Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Maison Margiela

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N.” [Ihhbl]
“Literally not a SINGLE bad thing about this collection. I want literally everything. The way he comes up with new ways to ARRANGE the garment on the body is so brilliant, and that’s not even getting into how impeccably constructed each piece is. What a serve.” [GoldenPetals]
“The only designer I care about! Everything looks sooo delicious and the menswear jacket/coats are just fire. Love it love it love it!” [Olaffo]
See all the looks from the Maison Margiela Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Rokh

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Absolutely beautiful.” [Ihhbl]
“Oh this is so beautiful. There’s something very NOIR about it. I think it reminds me of Casablanca. The cuts are beautiful.” [GoldenPetals]
“There are some elegant aspects to this collection, especially the repeated motif of the trench.” [Not Plain Jane]
See all the looks from the Rokh Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Chloé

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“The final dance was her best effort at Chloé.” [Tchi]
“Worst Chloé collection ever!” [liberty33r1b]
“So much leather for a spring/summer collection. It can work, but it’s so heavy handed here. Lack of any lightness or actual joy. Thank god Gabriela Hearst is out now.” [Cocteau Stone]
See all the looks from the Chloé Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Louis Vuitton

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“I loved it. I didn’t expect such a calm energy, soft energy from Nicolas.” [Lola701]
“I loved it… it might be one of my fave Vuitton collections. There’s an interesting mix between the 60s and 80s here – with a touch of the 2000s in the corset and pants look.” [Overindulgence]
“Loved it. I feel like I haven’t seen this type of femininity in his collections in a while. The energy seemed different here compared to his other LV shows. It was soft but still experimental in nature, so it made the few misses tolerable.” [depordetioz]
See all the looks from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Coperni

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Courrèges by Shien.” [LadyJunon]
“I find Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant’s fashion approach so obnoxious. No kindness, no softness, no poetry, no elegance, no romance, no art, no fragility, no chaos.” [IloveDiorHomme]
“It’s all so limp. Everything has a strange rippling or bubbling because the fabrics are either cheap or not appropriately utilized, especially at the seams.” [Cocteau Stone]
See all the looks from the Coperni Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Carven

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Nice to see Carven back!” [Not Plain Jane]
“I like every single look. A very strong and cohesive collection, there is no weak look for me. I like that it’s very clean and very wardrobe-oriented. It’s full of everyday pieces but with interesting twists to grab your attention.” [THD96]
“I think it’s easily one of the strongest collections of this season. It’s relaxed and sporty in a very fascinating way.” [perhydrol]
See all the looks from the Carven Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | AZ Factory

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“No one asked for this.” [TaylorBinque]
“Why are they even continuing with this brand?” [tourbillions]
“Looking more and more like the Target collaboration we all collectively decided to forget. Not one salvageable look.” [YohjiAddict]
See all the looks from the AZ Factory Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Yohji Yamamoto

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“The kind of work only a master can produce. Bravo.” [dancv]
“Gorgeous as always. And very calming, particularly compared to what the fashion month has been giving to us. Love those opening jackets with the ivory sleeves and the gothic-lolita polka dots (which kind of look like the moon) for a strange dose of lightness.” [Cocteau Stone]
“Beautiful, as ever. A precious jewel in a sea of sh*t.” [gallianostan]
See all the looks from the Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Mugler

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Trash. Next!” [gallianostan]
“Tacky stunts for Instagram.” [CommanderTMugler]
“I feel like this collection was only designed to have a bunch of work, slay, yaaas comments on Instagram and a bunch of snapping fingers at the show. No real fashion proposition.” [Lola701]
See all the looks from the Mugler Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Stella McCartney

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“H&M?” [Mrs.T]
“Seems a bit all over the place, no coherence.” [Not Plain Jane]
“This collection bores me to death. Her fabrics always seem cheap to me. The last two dresses are straight up hideous. I’ve never understood her appeal, if there truly is one.” [GoldenPetals]
See all the looks from the Stella McCartney Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Victoria Beckham

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“This is so messy even for Victoria’s standards.” [youthinasia]
“Some truly utterly bizarre things here. The panty knit bathing-suit, the jersey draped sack dress thing with gray knee-highs, the sailor references? Too much confusion.” [TianCouture]
“This is a mess. Possibly her worst. Is she trying to be avant-garde or something? It’s not working Vicky.” [TaylorBinque]
See all the looks from the Victoria Beckham Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Balenciaga

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“This show felt like a farewell and I REALLY hope it’s true because, well, the trick has worn out.” [perhydrol]
“It’s so suffocating, so heavy, so cynical. Just stop.” [Machinegumm]
“Watching this left me in a state of profound sadness. It’s like a funeral procession for a moment in time, both disturbing and weirdly cathartic. I have no idea where Balenciaga can go from here, this show made sure that the ghost of the last years will hover around this brand for a long time to come.” [donyan]
See all the looks from the Balenciaga Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Valentino

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“It’s cold and repressed for a house with such a vibrant history.” [GoldenPetals]
“When you realize your collection is again boring and dull, so you throw money at a live performance at the show to distract people.” [90sFan]
“This brand has become such a pitiful joke. You have FKA Twigs and her clones in bodyshape-wear in a sandbox a models walk into the room like dolled up debutantes for the Vienna ball. The laser cuts designs reminded me of those wedding invitations that were popular 25 years ago. It’s high time for a change. Pierpaolo Piccioli is clearly and visibly at his wit’s end.” [VERNIQUE]
See all the looks from the Valentino Spring 2024 collection.

HIT | Sacai

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“Finally we see a softer side of Chitose Abe! Love it. I need these incredible black flare trousers with the matching striped balloon top.” [VERNIQUE]
“Definitely my favorite collection this season, practicality mixed with elements of sensuality and freedom. Bravo!” [Constructionist]
“The long lean trousers are delightful; the clean white section (that oversized vest!); the distorted fairisle sweaters and striped shirts; the sheer elements: it’s all so desirable.” [Not Plain Jane]
See all the looks from the Sacai Spring 2024 collection.

MISS | Chanel

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

“For me the worst part of Virginie is that every collection just merge into the other, I really can’t tell seasons apart, always the same silhouettes, patterns, pieces, etc.” [ReneSanchez]
“This collection is like an ugly cousin of Sonia Rykiel, designed exclusively for people with no personality.” [perhydrol]
“I can’t understand why Virginie’s dresses are so ugly, she’s worked with Karl for years and seems incapable of creating an attractive black dress. The collection has no inspiration or personality, it’s just clothes, worse than that, it’s ugly clothes.” [Danilo Braz dos Santos]

MISS | Miu Miu

“Absolute trash.” [helmutnotdead]
“The amount of branding is actually f*cking insane.” [sussienmcswanny]
“Well this was a boring dud. The clothes mediocre, the styling trying so hard that it falls so flat even before one can start laughing at it. Horrible casting of blonde, white clones of nothingness and ZERO character. What a sad finale to fashion month.” [90sFan]

“I really like it and it is a very good debut collection from Stefano Gallici. It was exciting, pulsating and it actually felt new.” [LadyJunon]
“This is by far the best collection they’ve done so far , and there’s real potential here.” [donyan]
“The collection is quite good, miles better than the train wrecks that this house had gotten us used to in the last few years. If Gallici continues to improve, I see hope for this brand.” [YohjiAddict]

Today, the festivities of Paris Fashion Week came to an almighty close, with Miu Miu officially rounding out the PFW schedule and fashion month as a whole. The first portion of PFW gave us a stellar and dazzling display from Saint Laurent, we sat and watched Peter Do make his debut on the PFW calendar and witnessed Gabriela Hearst take her last bow as creative director of Chloé.
The second half of the week upped the ante to deliver us another series of showstopping moments, including Sarah Burton’s last outing as creative director of Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney staging a makeshift French market, Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Valentino show took us inside the great hall of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Art while the true genius of John Galliano was on full display at Maison Margiela.

More often than not, Town & Country is an absolute must-buy whenever we pay our local newsstand a visit. You can’t blame us either, as the publication serves up the goods on the regular (case in point being last month’s high-glam cover starring Sofia Richie Grainge). Glamour remains high on the agenda for October 2023 also, with editor Stellene Volandes securing actresses Diane Lane (in Ralph Lauren), Demi Moore (in Nina Ricci) and Chloë Sevigny (in Valentino) as cover stars, who’re each set to star alongside one another in FX’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. For T&C‘s latest cover shoot, the ladies come together within the gilded grand ballroom of The Plaza hotel in New York and strike a pose via the lens of photographer Ruven Afanador.

Town & Country struck gold amongst our forum members. “The cover is fun, and I absolutely can’t wait for the show,” raved KINGofVERSAILLES.
“Cool cover, and I love Demi and Diane. Nice to see them having a comeback, even if it’s for a Ryan Murphy show…” added mepps.
Town & Country consistently delivers fun, interesting covers. It’s also a great read. They know their audience and they have filled a void left when Radhika Jones took over Vanity Fair (who made it deathly boring),” voiced NYLA22.
“One of the few magazines I will still sometimes read cover to cover,” replied KINGofVERSAILLES upon returning to the thread for more.
Also very much a fan was vogue28: “Great cover! It’s so OTT, so perfectly Town & Country and so brilliantly executed from all those involved that I couldn’t possibly complain. Always a pleasure to see Demi Moore!”
Urban Stylin declared the cover “stunning” and we simply couldn’t agree more.

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2022

That’s a wrap. Paris Fashion Week rounded out Fashion Month Spring 2022 after what has been a celebration of what the industry’s finest have to offer.

It was a 60s revival at Christian Dior with models parading Maria Grazia Chiuri’s reinterpretation of Marc Bohan designs. Before the Eiffel Tower, Saint Laurent served up big shoulders, asymmetric cuts and sky-high stilettos. Olivier Rousteing celebrated 10 years at Balmain with help from Naomi Campbell and Carla Bruni.

The fashion pack soon flocked to the banks of the Seine for Gabriela Hearst’s first physical show since taking over the helm of Chloe. Meanwhile at Loewe, Jonathan Anderson delivered his sexiest and most abstract collection to date. Demna Gvasalia surprised everyone with Balenciaga’s latest offering by collaborating with The Simpsons, which even included a cameo from Anna Wintour.

Virginie Viard revived the spirit of the 90s at Chanel insisting models show joy as they sashayed down the catwalk. Miuccia Prada marked the return of the low-rise miniskirt at Miu Miu. Not even a climate protester was enough to distract from the drama of Louis Vuitton‘s latest collection. Closing out the week in style, 44 designers paid tribute to Alber Elbaz with a truly touching AZ Factory show.

Here are all the hits and misses of Paris Fashion Week Spring 2022. Well at least according to our forum members.
