That’s a wrap on the Fall 2025 season of New York Fashion Week. Running from February 6 until February 11, the schedule put out by the Council of Fashion Designers of America proved to be a far more streamlined affair in comparison to seasons past.

At the start of the 6-day event, it was Brandon Maxwell who kick-started this season into high gear (and high style). To commemorate a whole decade in the business, Maxwell dressed his army of models in everyday staples from silk slips and shirting to leather sheaths and plaid skirts. To close out NYFW, Thom Browne dialed up the drama (and then some), with model Alek Wek closing out Browne’s spectacular showcase in a voluminous plaid ball gown.

From the debut collection of Veronica Leoni as Calvin Klein creative director to Wes Gordon proving himself (once again) as the creative force behind Carolina Herrera (and everything else in between) – scroll further for theFashionSpot’s highlights of New York Fashion Week Fall 2025:

Yesterday, on day two of New York Fashion Week, one of the most highly-anticipated moments on the schedule took place: the unveiling of the debut collection of Veronica Leoni for Calvin Klein Collection. After a six-and-a-half-year hiatus from the calendar, the all-American label is back. Leoni welcomed guests like Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and the legendary American designer himself inside the former office of the late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy (who worked as a publicist for Calvin Klein in the 90s). Leoni tapped into some signature style codes of the iconic brand, presenting a lineup of trench coats, tailored suits, and capes (crafted in wool, brushed cotton, and silks).

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“The clothes are a non-event. They are available everywhere already.” [Lola701]

“Very sober and minimalist. In the 90s this was something unexpected and new in a certain sense. Now, with all the old money and quiet luxury brands, it just seems like something we’ve already seen.” [fashionlov]

“Depressing as hell.” [liberty33r1b]

“I honestly quite enjoyed the presentation. It doesn’t strike any major emotions in me but that might be fine for what it is. However, there’s something about this that feels rather Raf Simons – like a muted and subdued CK205W39NYC and recent Prada seasons.” [Overindulgence]

“This doesn’t feel like luxury at all. Most of the fabrics and looks you could find in Zara. What is the point of reviving the brand if you are going to offer something that looks like your 2010s collections?” [ReneSanchez]

“We have seen this a million times. You can go to COS/Dutti. So what’s the point of buying Calvin Klein Collection by Veronica Leoni?” [GivenchyAddict]

The Calvin Klein brand sure does know how to generate headlines with its advertising campaigns. Throughout 2024, fashion spots starring the likes of Kendall Jenner, Vittoria Ceretti, Jeremy Allen White and a handful of others have managed to generate a whole lot of buzz for the New York-based label (now headed up by Veronica Leoni). Cara Delevingne was ultimately cast for the brand’s final campaign installment of 2024, as the British model and actress poses for the Calvin Klein Holiday 2024 campaign. Delevingne appears before the lens of photographer Michael Bailey Gates for the occasion. She attempts to bring some holiday cheer, shot within a simplistic studio setting amongst some festive props.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Cara Delevingne is so Topshop,” critiqued MDNA.

“Zzzzzz,” shared forum member couturefan, suggesting the campaign was a complete snoozefest.

“This doesn’t feel very Calvin Klein at all. I miss the days of Jessica Miller by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, all cut up by MM Paris. THAT felt Calvin!” exclaimed ellarchivist.

In the same frame of mind was vogue28. “Amateur hour. Almost hard to believe this level of mediocrity is coming from the brand that used to deliver all those knockout advertising campaign imagery from the 90s. Those cardboard cutout props are abysmal,” he slammed.

Drusilla described the campaign as “boring” and we could not possibly disagree.

Ahead of the Spring 2025 season of New York Fashion Week, we’re flashing it back a whole decade to the Spring 2015 season. Set to be a one for the books, NYFW will run from September 6-11.

During the NYFW Spring 2015 season back in September of 2014, the fashion landscape (as you might expect) was entirely different. The most notable change compared with today was the designers behind each brand at the time. Still the creative force behind her own namesake label was Carolina Herrera, who sought inspiration from flowers as a staring point for her delightful spring offering. The late Oscar de la Renta was still heading up his eponymous fashion empire and Zac Posen was still in business.

Also on the jam-packed schedule for NYFW Spring 2015 was American fashion heavyweights Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren. At Calvin Klein, there was a cool elegance to the navy-centric collection from Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein Collection. Gingham baby-doll dresses were on display at Diane von Furstenberg, enlisting an A-list cast of models (including Lily Donaldson and Naomi Campbell) to model her vibrant lineup inspired by the French Riviera during 1950s.

Fashion brands across the globe are still OBSESSED with Kendall Jenner. After all, throughout 2024 alone we’ve encountered the American beauty in advertising campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, MO&Co. and Tory Burch recently welcomed Kendall as the face of the Tory Burch Sublime scent. Calvin Klein usher Kendall Jenner back for the Fall 2024 season, having previously now featured in four consecutive campaigns for the New York-based brand. Jenner is once again reunited with photographer Mert Alas and stylist Emmnauelle Alt, with the team taking things down to the beach this season. Decked out in an array of 90s-inspired silhouettes down on a beach in Los Angeles, Kendall debuts a new pixie hairdo throughout the sun-lit campaign imagery.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Now why’d they give Kendall a Greta Lee wig?” immediately asked KoV.

“Honestly, the wig on Kendall Jenner is so distracting and it’s ruining just about every single campaign image. Where they wanting some sort of Linda Evangelista vibe? It’s not working. I like everything else – including the photography, the coloring, the lighting and the beach setting,” said vogue28.

“I don’t hate this Kendall shoot at all. In fact this is M&M’s best work this season after a few flops elsewhere,” defended forum member TomBlanksFullFatMiuMiu.

“Ooh, I love Kendall’s hair like this! This is perhaps the most she has ever resembled her mother. She looks stunning,” praised aracic.

Everyone loves a good ol’ fashion flashback, right? Ahead of the upcoming Spring 2025 season of Menswear Milan Fashion Week, we’re throwing it back to Spring 2015.

Perhaps the biggest change when looking back to June 2014, is the creative directors behind each brand at the time. The most notable difference being Calvin Klein Collection on the schedule, with Italo Zucchelli at the helm of the iconic American fashion bible (who served as creative director from 2004 until 2016). Tomas Maier was at Bottega Veneta, who presented his collection inspired by dancers (including everyone from Nureyev to Baryshnikov). At Prada, Miuccia Prada served up a his-and-hers lineup while Milan Fashion Week staple Dolce & Gabbana were full steam ahead with their love for all-things Sicily, and honed in on the Spanish domination of the idyllic Italian island between 1516 and 1713. Inspired by a trip to Cuba, Donatella’s Versace collection was larger-than-life and full of all the iconic Versace symbols with hints of the Roman Empire splashed throughout.

Today’s major fashion news is that Veronica Leoni has been appointed creative director of Calvin Klein. The Italian designer, with a CV including stints at Jil Sander, Céline, Moncler and The Row will head up the Calvin Klein Collection division, consisting of womenswear, menswear, underwear and accessories. On the announcement, Leoni said, “I’m thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to write a new chapter of the Calvin Klein story. For decades, Calvin Klein interpreted the idea of bold self-expression, and I am willing to empower it with a strong accent on style and creativity.” Leoni is the first official creative force behind the iconic New York-based fashion label since the departure of Raf Simons in 2018. The 2023 LVMH Prize finalist is expected to present her debut collection during the Fall 2025 season.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Pretty sure their reputation and brand equity is ruined after what happened with Raf Simons, and after having not shown at fashion week for such a long time. After all these years, what’s the point?” [Frederic01]

“I missed the Calvin Klein collections (Francisco and Italo), will be interesting to see where this goes.” [youthinasia]

“To be honest, I’m eager to see what Veronica Leoni has to offer because why not? The only way to go is up for CK at this point. Whatever Leoni does can’t be more damaging than Raf Simons’ tenure. Simons literally dragged the whole Calvin Klein Collection operation into the ground. The future is bright for you Veronica. I’m just happy that they chose a veteran who cares about the quality of design and the construction behind a garment.” [THD96]

We don’t sleep on Vogue Netherlands here at theFashionSpot. After all, the magazine has demonstrated it’s more than capable of creating captivating and downright stunning covers. For March 2024, Dutch Vogue is dedicating its latest to the four fashion capitals: London, Milan, Paris and New York. Across four celebratory covers, four models pose for photographer Jorin Koers. Cover one shows Jean Campbell hanging out of a black cab on a rainy London day wearing a Burberry trench. Maty Fall walks the streets of Milan in cover two, sporting Sabato De Sarno‘s debut Gucci collection while Annemary Aderibigbe poses on cover three under the clear blue skies of Paris, dressed in Louis Vuitton. A Calvin Klein-clad Mathilda Gvarliani takes New York in the fourth and final cover.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Takes me back to [Emmanuelle] Alt’s world tour with Rianne van Rompaey! Oh, what a time! The London cover with Jean works best for me, I could’ve done without the rest,” voiced aracic.

“Love Jean’s cover!” exclaimed justaguy in complete agreement.

Lax89 agreed, commenting: “Jean’s cover is definitely my favorite. What a beauty! Milan and New York are boring and bring nothing. Paris is quite nice; I just don’t like where they shot it.”

“I’m with you!” replied vogue28. “The Paris cover really could’ve been shot anywhere… would’ve much preferred a more recognizable Paris landmark in the background. Jean Campbell’s cover is most definitely the standout here, purely because it feels like quintessential London – even down to the rain droplets on the roof of the black cab.

“All the covers except Milan’s are great for me and probably would be the winner, if it wasn’t to being compared to that fabulous London cover,” shared VogueDisciple93.

Last Wednesday, CR Fashion Book attempted to set the internet ablaze with the teaser for Issue #24. True to speculation on theFashionspot forums, CR‘s latest cover star is in fact Beyoncé, welcomed back for a second time. Almost one whole decade after her last, the acclaimed American singer-songwriter and businesswoman poses for photographic duo Louise & Maria Thornfeldt. Across four unique and dynamic cover images, Beyoncé tires on a various new looks, as she ports different hairstyles throughout and is dressed by CR‘s Carine Roitfeld in an array of pieces from Maison Margiela, Valentino, Luis De Javier and Calvin Klein.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“TRAGIC! But to be honest, nothing related to fashion that involves her excites me,” voiced DK92 the moment the covers struck.

Vogue28 replied: “Tragic indeed, and to think Carine Roitfeld (to woman who gave us countless stellar fashion stories and covers as EIC of Vogue Paris) is attached to this is making matters even worse. CR Fashion Book lost its spark a long time ago but these are just such a non-event that I am genuinely sat here dumbfounded.”

“I love Beyoncé very much but her magazine portfolio hardly impresses me,” thiago chimed in.

“She never convinces me in anything fashion related,” commented mepps.

Alquimista pointed out: “They’re still trying to sell this woman as a style icon. Beyoncé never had style!”

Kimy Jo described the end result as “horrible” but do you share the same view?

The hype surrounding Kendall Jenner remains in full force, and editors and designers across the globe continue to trip over themselves to endorse the American model. Last year alone, Kendall graced the covers of Vogue Italia, American Vogue, W Magazine and became to face of Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Gucci and Jacquemus to name just a select few. One label hellbent on keeping the model in the spotlight is Calvin Klein, who welcomes Jenner back for the third time running, with the unveiling of the Spring 2024 campaign. In an attempt to switch things up somewhat, Mert Alas is brought in as campaign photographer (replacing Inez & Vinoodh). The Turkish lensman takes us outside of the studio this season, as we venture out into the hustle and bustle of New York City. Styled by Emmanuelle Alt, Kendall roams various different locations within the city, shot both in full color and in black and white.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“These could be for literally anything. They could be Kendall’s toothpaste ads if she were smiling! What happened to Calvin Klein? Why would they shoot such bland items that show no brand identity?” asked tomtakesphotos.

“I miss CK Collection ads under Francisco Costa,” sighed matheus_s.

GivenchyHomme wasn’t all too impressed either, commenting: “These look like AI. I don’t think I like that. Kendall’s lack of enthusiasm only adds to the artificial-ness of it all.”

“A match made in hell. A boring model for a boring brand. It’s torture,” FelipeV chimed in.

“Not even Mert Alas and Emmanuelle Alt are enough to save this for me. Banal, boring and bland beyond belief… Kendall Jenner just giving us nothing (as per usual). I cannot wait for fashion brands to clock onto the fact that she’s just… so mundane. The name and followers ain’t enough!” voiced vogue28.
