That’s a wrap on the Fall 2025 season of New York Fashion Week. Running from February 6 until February 11, the schedule put out by the Council of Fashion Designers of America proved to be a far more streamlined affair in comparison to seasons past.

At the start of the 6-day event, it was Brandon Maxwell who kick-started this season into high gear (and high style). To commemorate a whole decade in the business, Maxwell dressed his army of models in everyday staples from silk slips and shirting to leather sheaths and plaid skirts. To close out NYFW, Thom Browne dialed up the drama (and then some), with model Alek Wek closing out Browne’s spectacular showcase in a voluminous plaid ball gown.

From the debut collection of Veronica Leoni as Calvin Klein creative director to Wes Gordon proving himself (once again) as the creative force behind Carolina Herrera (and everything else in between) – scroll further for theFashionSpot’s highlights of New York Fashion Week Fall 2025:

Yesterday, on day two of New York Fashion Week, one of the most highly-anticipated moments on the schedule took place: the unveiling of the debut collection of Veronica Leoni for Calvin Klein Collection. After a six-and-a-half-year hiatus from the calendar, the all-American label is back. Leoni welcomed guests like Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and the legendary American designer himself inside the former office of the late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy (who worked as a publicist for Calvin Klein in the 90s). Leoni tapped into some signature style codes of the iconic brand, presenting a lineup of trench coats, tailored suits, and capes (crafted in wool, brushed cotton, and silks).

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“The clothes are a non-event. They are available everywhere already.” [Lola701]

“Very sober and minimalist. In the 90s this was something unexpected and new in a certain sense. Now, with all the old money and quiet luxury brands, it just seems like something we’ve already seen.” [fashionlov]

“Depressing as hell.” [liberty33r1b]

“I honestly quite enjoyed the presentation. It doesn’t strike any major emotions in me but that might be fine for what it is. However, there’s something about this that feels rather Raf Simons – like a muted and subdued CK205W39NYC and recent Prada seasons.” [Overindulgence]

“This doesn’t feel like luxury at all. Most of the fabrics and looks you could find in Zara. What is the point of reviving the brand if you are going to offer something that looks like your 2010s collections?” [ReneSanchez]

“We have seen this a million times. You can go to COS/Dutti. So what’s the point of buying Calvin Klein Collection by Veronica Leoni?” [GivenchyAddict]

Ahead of the Spring 2025 season of New York Fashion Week, we’re flashing it back a whole decade to the Spring 2015 season. Set to be a one for the books, NYFW will run from September 6-11.

During the NYFW Spring 2015 season back in September of 2014, the fashion landscape (as you might expect) was entirely different. The most notable change compared with today was the designers behind each brand at the time. Still the creative force behind her own namesake label was Carolina Herrera, who sought inspiration from flowers as a staring point for her delightful spring offering. The late Oscar de la Renta was still heading up his eponymous fashion empire and Zac Posen was still in business.

Also on the jam-packed schedule for NYFW Spring 2015 was American fashion heavyweights Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren. At Calvin Klein, there was a cool elegance to the navy-centric collection from Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein Collection. Gingham baby-doll dresses were on display at Diane von Furstenberg, enlisting an A-list cast of models (including Lily Donaldson and Naomi Campbell) to model her vibrant lineup inspired by the French Riviera during 1950s.

It seems our forum members would have preferred something a little different. “I still adore Jennifer but this cover leaves me feeling disappointed,” said iriswills, unwilling to kick us off on a positive note.

“I don’t see it fitting for December. It doesn’t scream Holiday. Maybe this was for January?” asked a rather startled MON.

Echoing the same sentiments was kimair: “This would have been a great editorial/cover for April, May or June, not December…”

[ See: Jennifer Lawrence’s 16 Best Looks, Both In and Out of Dior ]

“December? Looks like April. I guess we should blame the climate change,” madzedre laughed.

“I cannot get past Jennifer’s expression though, what made them go for this shot?” asked an unimpressed Benn98.

Also disappointed with the outcome was Aedlacir. “That is such an unappealing cover. Smh overload,” he declared.

Along with the cover, our forums have also seen Jennifer’s accompanying cover story. Take a look and tell us what you think here.

Carolyn Murphy in Tom Ford Spring 2015

When you’re a supermodel who designs a lingerie collection with British brand cheekfrills, you get a private dinner in your honor. And when you’re Carolyn, you show up in a glitzy gold Tom Ford number. We think she killed it with her sleek hair, neutral makeup and minimal accessories, but some forum members weren’t as impressed.

“That’s just a horrible Tom Ford dress,” Street_a_Licious posted.

Lola701 agreed. “That Tom Ford dress doesn’t look good on Carolyn,” she wrote.

Are we wrong for thinking she looked awesome? Perhaps not, but we can agree to disagree.

THE HITS:

Narciso Rodriguez

“This is what I want to see when Narciso shows: beautiful minimalist design, great use of different fabrics and perfect execution. The shoes just make it even more charming.” [*ana*]

“Amazing AMAZING work, once again. Narciso is truly a talent. Incredible deployment of color, fabrics, and proportions, finished off with master class tailoring. Despite their laborious construction each look is effortless and alluring. MUCH needed breath of fresh air in what has been a grim week.” [VogueDisciple93]

“Minimalism at its best. He has captured the simplicity without being boring.” [yesitsdagny]

Proenza Schouler

“I love the armor-inspired last couple looks. Overall, it’s an incredibly solid show.” [Moofins]

“The silhouettes here are brilliant. I’m still trying to wrap my head around what sort of fabric the pieces like the amber colored dresses are made out of, those six pieces were the standouts to me. I also loved the pieces with the bold hardware. While the metallic interwoven pieces I actually could have done without. Definitely one of the best collections this week.” [HeatherAnne]

“What makes this collection for me is the fact that it is incredibly wearable. There isn’t a single look I see that I couldn’t imagine being worn by a well dressed woman on the streets of New York/Paris/Tokyo/Hong Kong. Sometimes in the theatricality of fashion the fact that real people (most of whom don’t have a team of personal stylists assisting them) have to actually wear the clothing is lost in the ether. This is very much rooted in reality and I think that the best of NYFW tends to be.” [Luxx]

See all the looks and read our review of the Proenza Schouler collection.

Michael Kors

“Such a good collection. I’ve been loving all of his recent work, but I’m really happy that he went in more of a demure direction rather than giving us graphic sportswear, which would have been so obvious for Spring.” [Fiercification]

“Loved it… Michael Kors did a great job of fusing some vintage shapes and ideas with modern sensibilities. The end result: chic perfection. So understated, so sophisticated and very pretty.” [MyNameIs]

“Most of this looks so chic! Not anything groundbreaking, but that isn’t what I expect from the brand anyway. But there are so many lovely pieces here and personally, I love the color palette!” [RedandNavy]

THE HITS:

3.1 Phillip Lim

“This has been by far my favorite collection so far in New York. I’m very happy to see him come back with this after what I felt was a horrible Spring/Summer collection. I love this.” [Dutchie]

“Definitely his best in awhile. I think his old celebrity devotees will be finding their way back to him after this collection, and they should. There’re so many great interchangeable pieces in here to choose from.” [HeatherAnne]

“Such great materials, cuts, colors, such wonderful combinations, so inspirational! The teal coat is soooo stunning. That’s what I wanna see in NY; beautiful wearable, inspired and chic without trying too hard. Thumbs up!!” [RedandNavy]

Read our review and see images of the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection.

Proenza Schouler

“Best collection of NYFW hands down. Yes, it may have referenced past Balenciaga and Céline collections but all in all it was flawless. I would wear every single item of clothing.” [xoxoadore]

“I was quite floored by each and every piece (save for the feathered skirts perhaps). Everything was absolutely pristine in motion.” [Faith Akiyama]

“Dying…went to heaven…then died again and went to Proenza Schouler heaven.” [GERGIN]

Read our review and see images of the Proenza Schouler collection.

Marc Jacobs

“This was one of the best Marc Jacobs shows ever, I absolutely adored all of the looks. The cast was also fantastic; the set left me speechless. I am in love – this is art.” [dodencebt]

“I thought the collection was fantastic. Not my favorite, but certainly amazing. It was like Fall/Winter 2010, but more glamorous with the furs and sequins and actually sexy and totally cool with those David Bowie–looking wigs. Can’t wait to hear the inspiration and how it all relates to the sun installation.” [LagerfeldBoy]

“The colors of the garments were quite spectacular, he’s always at his finest when he plays romantic (Fall 2012 included). I’m not sure what the inspiration was but if anyone could be so kind to tell me that would be splendid ‘cause I was about to call out Liza Minelli or David Bowie walking around home naked as a reference point. The collection was sublime.” [GERGIN]

Read our review and see images of the Marc Jacobs collection.

THE MISSES:

Calvin Klein Collection

“Not horrible, not great. I paid more attention to who was in the show than what they were wearing to be honest.” [lelaid]

“It feels heavy and drab…nothing stands out to me.” [StoneSkipper]

“Ugh, after three spectacular seasons I’m very disappointed. It really does look heavy and matronly, even inspired by Céline and I hate to point out such similarities. I really hate those buckles too and those lifted shoulders are getting old.” [Jinadaze]

Read our review and see images of the Calvin Klein Collection collection.

Ohne Titel

“I’m not really fond of this collection; the colors and the patterns were so wrong to me.” [elle_gb]

“I tried to like this, I really did… I don’t know, that palette looks so weird and is not cohesive, that mosaic thing didn’t look good, the shapes look messy… it’s a miss for me.” [StoneSkipper]

Vera Wang

“Am I alone in thinking that everything looks either clumsy, boxy, unflattering, or all three? I hate the color palette, too. A misstep.” [StoneSkipper]

“She should just stick to bridal wear.” [disco54]
