“In Elizaveta’s defense, I think that comes more from the editorial decision/masthead design. If the G wasn’t placed as it is, the eye would easily register the missing hair as blocked by the ragged edge of the hole,” responded forum member tigerrouge.

Along with Harper’s Bazaar France, the relaunch of Harper’s Bazaar Italia has been triumphant. Since 2022, covers starring the likes of Rianne van Rompaey and Penelope Ternes have blown us away. The magazine is now under a new editor in the form of Massimo Russo, complete with Stefano Tonchi installed as editorial director. The first covers under the new team are here, for September 2024. Cover one sees Penelope Ternes return as cover girl, photographed by Craig McDean in sequined Balenciaga. Mica Argañaraz fronts the second cover alternative, decked out in floor-length Bottega Venata via the lens of Willy Vanderperre. On the third and final cover offering, Lulu Tenney poses for Elizaveta  Porodina dressed in Giorgio Armani.

Lorenzo drops Lila Moss as the Spanish fashion bible’s March 2024 cover girl, who poses for photographer Elizaveta Porodina. Porodina has become quite the fixture at Vogue Spain, having captured the likes of Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk and Grace Elizabeth over recent years. This month, the Russian photographer teams up with stylist Victoria Sekrier who dresses Lila in an eye-catching Mulger creation from the brand’s Spring 2024 collection for the visually-arresting cover image.

Elizaveta Porodina is the photographer du jour, and the world of fashion continues to embrace the Russian photographer. Throughout 2023, a select few of Porodina’s accomplishments involved commissions to capturing the covers of Vogue Spain (twice) as well as Vogue China Beauty and bagged campaigns for mega fashion brands such as Carolina Herrera and Giorgio Armani. Starting off the new year on a high, Porodina’s first gig for 2024 is the cover of Vogue Italia. The magazine’s head of editorial content Francesca Ragazzi welcomes Benedetta Porcaroli as cover girl, who fronts the January 2024 edition. In the artistic cover image which evokes the work of American artist John Singer Sargent, the Italian actress is dressed by stylist Vittoria Cerciello in one of the translucent chiffon dresses from Prada’s Spring 2024 collection.

Subsequent to last year’s glitzy and über-glamorous campaign starring Valentino Sampaio, Giorgio Armani’s offering for 2023’s holiday season is simply just as dazzling and divine. The Italian designer selects Beauise Ferwerda as the face and embodiment of his latest advertising campaign, ending the year for his namesake fashion empire on a creative high. Via the lens of photographer Elizaveta Porodina, the Dutch beauty who made her runway debut during the Fall 2022 season (for Alaïa), is joined by male models Xavier Serrano and Diogo Gomes throughout the series of campaign images which are guaranteed to get you in the festive holiday spirit.

Members of our forums were left in awe upon checking out the campaign. “The photographs look festive and are beautiful but not in a literal way. I am a fan! The side shot of Beauise is my favorite from the set,” admired MModa.

“The more I see this campaign, the more I fall completely in love with it – it’s divine. I’ve come to expect nothing less from Giorgio Armani in all honesty but with the total lack of festive glamour (thus far) in 2023, makes me appreciate the outcome of this tremendously. The majority of our forum members certainly approve. “Kind of love this, it’s not what I expected. Still have Zendaya fatigue from the rampant overexposure, but this is memorable, creative and would stand out on the newsstand and my coffee table…” admitted KINGofVERSAILLES.

Christian Dior clearly loves switching campaign photographers. Paola Mattioli, Lean Lui, Elina Kechicheva and Brigitte Niedermair already stepped behind the lens. Now it’s Elizaveta Porodina’s turn since the photographer was enlisted to shoot the brand’s Fall 2021 campaign. Essoye Mombot, Maryel Uchida, Sade van der Hoeven along with Steinberg star in the eye-catching images.

The campaign divided our forums, however. “Boring and terribly unimaginative considering what they had to work with at Versailles…” noted an obviously disappointed Frederic01.

“I like the photography, however, the clothes are awful and the models are just not all that,” declared a definitely dismayed Scotty.

“Beautiful lighting and photography cannot hide terrible fashion,” agreed GivenchyHomme.

All 27 editions of Vogue have united for the theme of creativity this month. But truth be told, the majority have flopped. (Prime examples are the covers of Vogue Spain, Vogue Paris and Vogue Hong Kong.) The tables have suddenly turned with the unveiling of Vogue Russia’s latest trio of covers that knock it out of the park. Irina Shayk, Natalia Vodianova and Tanya Churbanova star on the bold and vibrant March 2021 covers with the three Russian models photographed by Arseny Jabiev, Elizaveta Porodina and Yan Yugay respectively.

The covers immediately made an impression on our forum members. “WOW! Those covers are beautiful. I love their take on creativity. Kudos to Vogue Russia for stepping up this month!” applauded crmsnsnwflks.

“I must admit I love all three of them. Irina’s ability to pull off green hair comes as a surprise, she looks amazing. Natalia’s cover is just spectacular!” raved aracic.

“I love all of them. Weirdly enough, even though Irina was made to look like Kermit the Frog, I love it!” admitted oaklee91.

“Natalia’s is by far the best, I’m not sure why they bothered with the other two,” said marsnoop2.

“More often than not, I loathe artsy magazine covers, but Natalia Vodianova’s cover is an absolute knockout, utterly sublime. Irina Shayk’s is a close second. Vogue China delivers just that this month bestowing upon us a truly exquisite July 2020 offering featuring actress Zhou Dongyu. Amazingly, the entire shoot was captured by photographer Elizaveta Porodina in Munich with Zhou, decked out in Burberry and Boucheron jewelry, thousands of miles away in Shanghai.

The outcome was praised on our forums. “This is absolutely fantastic. I love how different this is,” declared Nomar.

“One of the most beautiful covers I’ve seen this year! When fashion meets art and it’s not a desperate attempt at being edgy and appealing to everyone. Great job!” raved aracic.
