Harper’s Bazaar España May 2025 : Jourdan Dunn by Javier Biosca

Here at theFashionSpot, you will always hear us rave about Harper’s Bazaar Spain. The magazine remains firmly planted on our radar. After all, Inma Jimenez Mateos has mastered producing buzz-worthy covers. Cover stars over recent months have included the likes of Carla Bruni, Gal Gadot, and Cate Blanchett. Up next on the cover Harper’s Bazaar Spain is Jourdan Dunn. The British beauty (who began appearing on international runways in 2007) fronts the title’s latest, centered around the theme of art and craft. Jourdan poses before the lens of Spanish Bazaar regular Javier Biosca for the occasion, complete with Beatriz Moreno de la Cova on styling duties. Across the two covers, Dunn models looks from the Spring 2025 Prada collection of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons.

“The orange cover looks super crisp, I love it! The cover of the ‘art and crafts’ issue done right,” instantly approved crmsn.

“Both of the covers are visually appealing. I particularly like the cover with the orange masthead and Prada skirt. The short hairstyle suits Dunn, and makes for a refreshing comeback look,” MModa chimed in.

“So happy to see Jourdan Dunn back. I miss that 2010 era with Chanel Iman, Arlenis Sosa, Sessilee Lopez, and Joan Smalls – this is the era of fashion I want to go back to! The styling here is gorgeous,” admired Bertrando3.

While the action on the court over the past fortnight has been thrilling, the celebs competing off-court for the best spectator-style looks has been our kinda sport here on theFashionSpot. Should you be a voracious reader of Vogue Portugal, you’re no doubt fully aware Sofia Lucas favors the format of issues dedicated to a particular theme. Themes subsequent to the ‘Blossom‘ issue back in March (which had our undivided attention), issues of the Portuguese fashion title has since centered around ‘Memories‘ and ‘Mother Nature‘. For June 2024, Lucas is shining a spotlight on all-things Portugal with the ‘From Portugal with Love’ issue. Across six collectable covers, teams were dispatched to the city of Porto, the island of Madeira, the historical region of Alentejo, The Algarve, The Azores and the municipality of Sintra. The covers result in Mariza, Jourdan Dunn, Carla Pereira, Carolina Azevedo, Alessandra Ambrosio and Daniela Melchior becoming cover stars, who pose for Branislav Simoncik, Ricardo Khalil Abrahao, Cole Sprouse (yes, the actor), JuanKr, Élio Nogueira and An Le respectively.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I love how imposing the architecture on cover one is. That one and the last (below, bottom left) are my favorites,” immediately shared kokobombon.

“I like the one in front of Santo Ildefonso (above, left). And, the one with Alessandra Ambrosio,” added forum member oaklee91.

Sharing the same enthusiasm toward Vogue Portugal’s latest was Ihhbl. “Love Alessandra’s cover and Carla’s (above, bottom right)! Overall, a pretty strong offering,” they applauded.

“I think these actually work, I like them,” approved thenewclassic.

“I honestly love them all,” Kimy Jo enthused.

Vogue28 voiced: “The first cover with Mariza is so striking, but it’s Alessandra Ambrosio’s that truly wins me over here. Jourdan Dunn’s cover isn’t too bad either, I’m so here for this comeback of hers.”

UK Harper’s Bazaar June 2024 : Jourdan Dunn by Richard Phibbs
IMAGE | HARPERSBAZAAR.COM/UK

You just have to love British Harper’s Bazaar. After all, the magazine is unapologetically themselves – month after month, issue after issue, cover after cover. Nicola Coughlan received the quintessential British Harper’s Bazaar cover treatment last month and it’s now Jourdan Dunn’s turn. Editor Lydia Slater called upon Bazaar regular Richard Phibbs for the occasion, who ventured to the north coast of Scotland to capture the British beauty. For Bazaar‘s June 2024 cover story, we’re welcomed inside and within the grounds of Scotland’s Castle of Mey. The majestic and historic castle looms in the background of the commanding cover photograph, complete with Dunn styled by Cathy Kasterine in a tweed number from Virginie Viard’s Pre-Fall 2024 Chanel collection.

“Always a joy to see Jourdan Dunn on a cover. She’s one of the first models I fell in love with when I became interested in fashion magazines. I quite like the cover,” voiced LastNight.

“Lovely surprise,” shared forum member upNorth.

“AMAZING!” Bertrando3 exclaimed. “That gorgeous face, that smirk, the pose, the commanding presence and the Chanel. I love it, it’s a great cover.”

TomBlanksFullFatMiuMiu commented: “More beautiful and expensive-looking than British Vogue!”

Tatler meets Town & Country! Beautiful cover and Jourdan looks gorgeous,” enthused justaguy.

“Quintessentially British Harper’s Bazaar, and for that reason alone I’m a firm fan,” added an equally as impressed vogue28. “Wonderful to see Jourdan Dunn back in the fold, what a lovely surprise. The cover photograph itself is undeniably beautiful, love the castle in the background, the wolfhounds and the Chanel. None of which overpower Jourdan. A wonderfully executed cover!”

It has been a never-ending guessing game over on theFashionSpot forums for months. Speculating, just as to who might crop up on the cover of Edward Enninful’s final issue of British Vogue. Since June 2023, upon the news of Enninful departing the British fashion bible after a rather remarkable 7-year stint, names like Beyoncé were thrown around with regards to his final cover star. Needless to say, we didn’t see this one coming…

Forgoing just the one cover star, Enninful called upon a whopping 40 of his chosenVogue icons for his concluding cover. As a result, Karen Elson, Irina Shayk, Laverne Cox, Anya Taylor-Joy, Serena Williams, Rina Sawayama, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Cindy Crawford, Amber Valletta, Precious Lee, Jodie Comer, Gemma Chan, Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Cata Delevingne, Jane Fonda, Gigi Hadid, Linda Evangelista, Adwoa Aboah, Miley Cyrus, Paloma Elsesser, Iman, Victoria Beckham, Ariana DeBose, Jameela Jamil, Oprah, Selma Hayek, Christy Turlington, Salma Blair, Maya Jama, Kate Moss, Cynthia Erivo, Simone Ashley, Lila Moss, Anok Yai, Kaia Gerber, Naomi Campbell and Dua Lipa grace the cover. The women flocked together in New York, and assemble for a group photograph before the lens of Steven Meisel.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Thank you, Edward. Thank you fashion gods! It’s a very interesting mix of cover subjects, some greats, some less than greats. Everyone looks fantastic, not a single woman looks unflattering here and that’s exactly what you want in a group cover, ” approved aracic.

LastNight was of the same mind, echoing: “I really like it! I think it’s quite striking and impressive to get all those people together.”

“I mean it’s a nice flex for him to have all these names on his last issue, but the composition is awful,” chimed in Marc10.

Thiago commented: “The Photoshop is terrible but that’s a proper farewell – Steven Meisel and legends!”

“It’s insane that they managed to actually get everyone there and still made it look like it’s a completely fake, Photoshopped group picture,” exclaimed lookatme.

“The cover isn’t groundbreaking enough, but you can’t make me hate it. Edward is such a mastermind, and I will surely miss his Vogue era,” shared forum member crmsn.

Caioherreo most definitely wasn’t all too impressed, describing the cover as “super boring” but do you agree?

Held at the Royal Albert Hall, a plethora of A-list attendees stepped out for the celebratory fashion-filled occasion and walked the red carpet in their finest finery (many opting to dig into the archives). Guests soon witnessed Paloma Elsesser winning Model of the Year, Martine Rose crowned British Menswear Designer of the Year, Maximilian Davis nabbing British Womenswear Designer of the Year and Jonathan Anderson won big with the Designer of the Year award.

2022 Cannes International Film Festival

After skipping 2020 and scaling back for 2021 due to the pandemic, the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival is back in full force. Which is great for us since it usually produces fashion moments on par with the Met Gala and the Oscars. Although we have to admit, a decent amount of looks were relatively lackluster.

When it comes to designers, certain ones reigned supreme. We witnessed several dresses from Valentino’s Fall 2022 offering, aka the pink collection, take to the red carpet. Sharon Stone stuck with Dolce & Gabbana probably because she stars in the Italian fashion house’s new handbag campaign. As usual, there were plenty of haute couture looks to go around. Fendi, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Christian Dior and Chanel are just a small sampling. Custom creations were also trending with Cara Delevingne’s revealing Balmain gown one of the standouts.

The jewelry was also something to behold. Especially when it came to necklaces. Julianne Moore’s Bottega Veneta dress was amplified by Bulgari’s Eden The Garden of Wonders necklace, for example.

On the beauty front, hair really turned heads. Bella Hadid’s wet-look hairdo with sculpted strands in the middle of her forehead really made a statement. As did Grace Elizabeth’s piecey pixie.

Keep reading to see all the must-see looks from the premieres at the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival.

The Fashion Awards 2021The Fashion Awards 2021 were held last night in London. Virgil Abloh was clearly on everyone’s mind after news broke over the weekend of the innovative designer’s sudden passing. (He was also an honoree at this year’s ceremony.) On the fashion front, a mix of actors, models and singers graced the red carpet sporting some truly eye-catching ensembles. Richard Quinn was literally everywhere. Those boldly floral patterned pieces are pretty easy to spot. Everyone from Priyanka Chopra to Billy Porter flaunted the designer’s statement creations. But Gabrielle Union really stole the spotlight decked out in a neon Valentino Fall 2021 Haute Couture gown. There’s nothing like a great cast shot by Luigi & Iango to grab our attention. Enter Mônot’s first-ever advertising campaign. Lebanese designer Eli Mizrahi’s label burst onto the scene during Paris Fashion Week back in March and its Fall 2020 campaign hits all the right notes. The ads star an impressive lineup of modeling’s finest: Amber Valletta, Alek Wek, Candice Swanepoel, Kate Moss, Jourdan Dunn, Mariacarla Boscono and Xiao Wen Ju. The glamorous and stylized campaign transports us to Al Ula in Saudi Arabia with Carine Roitfeld on styling duties.

The campaign immediately became a hot topic on our forums. “Kate the Great! This is fantastic! Those landscapes, those models — pure perfection,” applauded aracic.

“It’s fabulous, very Mugler, very opulent! Carine only delivers when it’s big budget and she delivered! Bravo!” raved Lola701.

“I like it, seen it a thousand times, but it’s got good energy and a lovely cast. Xiao is on fire,” commented YohjiAddict.

“The Xiao shoot with the veil looks very Newton-ish. As airbrushed and tacky as it looks, I can’t help but love it! The casting is stellar…” said SRank.

“I prefer the finesse of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but this is a decent imitation,” confessed GivenchyHomme.

But a few of our forum members were left scratching their heads. “How did this no-name brand get the money to cast these stars?” wondered dfwn2n.

“What’s this brand? They decided to take a shot using supermodels, a supermodel stylist and all this outdated glam,” critiqued Alien Sex Friend.

There was the usual mix of models, actors, singers, designers and social media influencers at this year’s The Fashion Awards aka the British Fashion Awards. While we were treated to pops of color courtesy of Rihanna, Emilia Clarke and newly minted Model of the Year Adut Akech, the majority of the red carpet looks were pretty black and white. But sequins, ethereal layers and cut-outs kept things interesting. The real scene-stealers were the puffer gown and puffer skirt worn by Shailene Woodley and Liya Kebede, respectively.
