Make no mistake Harper’s Bazaar Spain has been one of the very few magazines which has been planted firmly on our radar throughout 2024. After all, covers starring the likes of Jessica Chastain, Sydney Sweeney, Aitana, Eva Herzigova, and Constance Jablonski have kept us captivated to no end. In true celebratory fashion, Spanish Bazaar editor-in-chief Jimenez Mateos closes out 2024 with the annual ‘Women of the Year’ issue. Mateos welcomes swimmer Teresa Perales, designer Camille Miceli, model Jerry Hall, writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, singer Rosario Flores, actress Elizabeth Hurley, and actress Diane Kruger as cover stars. Each of the women are celebrated and splashed across seven commemorative and collectible covers for the occasion.

The December 2024 ‘Women of the Year’ Covers of Harper’s Bazaar Spain:

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Love the 90s vibe of the Diane Kruger cover,” matheus_s commented.

“I don’t think I’ve ever liked a Diane Kruger cover more,” chimed in forum member KoV.

“The Jerry Hall and Diane Kruger covers are stellar,” applauded JPineapple.

Vogue28 voiced: “My favorite is the Elizabeth Hurley cover. I’m also very much a fan of Jerry Hall here too, just because… it’s Jerry Hall. Nevertheless, each of the seven covers are strong in their own right!”

“I like the vintage vibe of the Teresa Perales cover,” admired kokobmobon.

Yet not everyone was so forthcoming. “‘Woman of the Year’ but I can’t figure out what some of these women have done in the last decade to deserve such acclaim, let alone last YEAR,” noted blueorchid.

Tonight, stars from the world of fashion, sport and beyond descended upon the historic Place Vendôme, situated within the heart of Paris for Vogue World: Paris.

This year’s traveling fashion extravaganza was an outright celebration and fusion of fashion and sport (ahead of the Paris Olympic Games which commence Friday, July 26). Youth athletic academies from throughout France took part, including gymnastics, tennis, fencing, and break dancing, among others. Said sports were ingeniously paired with the theme of French fashion for every decade since 1924, when the French capital last hosted the Olympic games.

Live performances came from Bad Bunny and Aya Nakamura. Curated by Carine Roitfeld, megawatt fashion from just about every major name in French fashion, including: Balenciaga, Balmain, Chanel, Christian Dior, Jacquemus, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marine Serre, Saint Laurent and more were flaunted by an army of fashion’s finest of fashion models. As models took to the circular runway, around the bronze war memorial column, BFFs Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid rode horseback through the parade.

From Cara Delevingne in a look from Simone Rocha‘s Jean Paul Gaultier haute couture collection to Natalia Vodianova digging into the Dolce & Gabbana archives (for the same look she wore on the cover of Vogue Paris October 2006) – here’s theFashionSpot’s must-see looks from the Vogue World: Paris event:

There’s something in the air over at ELLE Spain HQ, and we 100% approve. Here at theFashionSpot, we’ve been completely besotted with what the Spanish fashion title has had to offer us throughout 2024 (thus far). It has ultimately all been down to Benedetta Poletti’s impeccable choice in cover stars, having granted us Bianca Balti, Penélope Cruz and Monica Bellucci as cover stars – all with a truly exceptional outcome and a standing ovation across our forums. Next up is Diane Kruger, who fronts Spanish ELLE for June 2024. Via the lens of Xavi Gordo, the German actress (and former fashion model) poses poolside on location in Cannes, France. Under the warm sunshine of the French Riviera, Kruger helps usher in the season of summer dressing in pieces from Max Mara, Miu Miu, Loewe and Christian Dior across four covers.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Nice and fresh covers for summer,” immediately approved Urban Stylin.

“LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Diane Kruger puts most of the full-time models to shame with this,” exclaimed forum member FashionFanatico.

Also very much an admirer of ELLE Spain’s latest was vogue28. “All four covers are equally beautiful; I have zero complaints. Always lovely to see Diane Kruger and the covers feel like breath of fresh summer air!” he voiced in admiration.

Marsnoop2 simply described the outcome as “lovely” and we couldn’t possibly disagree.

2022 Cannes International Film Festival

After skipping 2020 and scaling back for 2021 due to the pandemic, the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival is back in full force. Which is great for us since it usually produces fashion moments on par with the Met Gala and the Oscars. Although we have to admit, a decent amount of looks were relatively lackluster.

When it comes to designers, certain ones reigned supreme. We witnessed several dresses from Valentino’s Fall 2022 offering, aka the pink collection, take to the red carpet. Sharon Stone stuck with Dolce & Gabbana probably because she stars in the Italian fashion house’s new handbag campaign. As usual, there were plenty of haute couture looks to go around. Fendi, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Christian Dior and Chanel are just a small sampling. Custom creations were also trending with Cara Delevingne’s revealing Balmain gown one of the standouts.

The jewelry was also something to behold. Especially when it came to necklaces. Julianne Moore’s Bottega Veneta dress was amplified by Bulgari’s Eden The Garden of Wonders necklace, for example.

On the beauty front, hair really turned heads. Bella Hadid’s wet-look hairdo with sculpted strands in the middle of her forehead really made a statement. As did Grace Elizabeth’s piecey pixie.

Keep reading to see all the must-see looks from the premieres at the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival.

Cannes International Film FestivalForget the Oscars and the Met Gala. The Cannes International Film Festival is the epitome of glamour. The mantra “Go big or go home” was practically coined for the annual star-studded gathering. Although the 2020 edition was canceled due to the health crisis, last year it returned on a much smaller scale. (Although Bella Hadid still manged to deliver two amazing looks.) The good news? This week the festival returns, hopefully with a bang. So we decided to reflect back on the greatest looks ever to hit the French Riviera before the 2022 festivities get underway. We’re talking epic feathered trains, sculpted skirts, decadent embroidery and eye-catching embellished bodices. And let’s not forget all the dazzling jewelry. Fashion institutions Stéphane Rolland, Ralph & Russo, Atelier Versace, Gucci and Jean Paul Gaultier are all well-represented as their pieces are often designed for a grand stage like the Cannes International Film Festival. From A-list actresses to an iconic princess, these looks are emblazoned into our memories as some of the best, not just of Cannes, but of all time. Ready to take a look back through time? Then scroll down to relive the most breathtaking looks to ever grace the festival’s red carpet.

2021 Met Gala

With a theme like “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” we weren’t sure what to expect when it came to the 2021 Met Gala. Unlike previous years when the dress code was more established, many attendees decided to go rogue. Sure, some went with patriotic options. Hence red and blue being popular choices. But a large percentage just dressed to impress, er, stand out.

There were plenty of American designers on display. Jennifer Lopez served up some real 70s glamour in Ralph Lauren. Kate Hudson’s pink Michael Kors Collection ensemble also turned heads. And Amanda Gorman’s blue Vera Wang stunner was a striking nod to the Statue of Liberty.

There was certainly a lot of skin. The naked dress was back in a big way with everyone from Kendall Jenner to Irina Shayk indulging in the trend. Others decided to flash flesh in far more strategic ways.

Scroll down to see all the incredible red carpet looks from the 2021 Met Gala.

We’re the first to admit that the fashion at the 2021 Cannes International Film Festival was a little lacking. Perhaps that’s because it was missing some of its most stylish regulars. But there were still several dramatic moments and gowns. Bella Hadid managed to wow twice. First in a vintage and slightly altered Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture creation. The model really turned heads, however, in a recently debuted Schiaparelli Fall 2021 Haute Couture stunner. Jessica Chastain also gave us two winning looks. As did Sharon Stone and Gemma Chan. The award for most daring red carpet look? Why that goes to Tilda Swinton, of course. The actress and living fashion legend hit the premiere of The French Dispatch in a colorful Haider Ackermann ensemble. (Confession: We’re more excited about Tilda and Haider’s reunion than Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck getting back together.)
