On Monday, Elizabeth Olsen looked stunning in a collared Versace dress and black pumps at the “His Three Daughters” special screening. The LBD was a part of Versace’s fall 2024 collection, equipped with oversized shoulders and a buttoned-up bodice. The black number was thigh-high length with a white statement swallowtail collar for a business-casual look.

She further elevated the fit with pearl earrings and black leather pumps. According to WWD, Olsen tied the whole look together with sheer tights from Calzedonia. She paired her pearl studs with a pearl-trimmed brooch at the waist. The brooch added a hint of bling to the otherwise minimal outfit.

The gorgeous ensemble radiated 90s minimalism, with Donatella Versace having taken inspiration from the brand’s 1993 couture show. The dress worn by Elizabeth Olsen evoked the collar detailings spotted on LBDs worn by Naomi Campbell and Helena Christensen during the fashion show. The “WandaVision” star’s outfit especially drew inspiration from one of Christensen’s runway looks. However, the model’s fit featured hot pants and sheer sleeves that were paired with chunky jewelry.

Elizabeth Olsen has been rocking outfits that emphasize tailoring throughout the “His Three Daughters” press tour. The 35-year-old has previously worn Dior coats and The Row power suits that nail the business-chic aesthetic. Olsen’s The Row look especially turned heads as it is owned by her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. For most of the press tour, the actress has been opting for minimal makeup paired with lightly tousled hairstyle.

2021 Emmy Awards

For the 2021 Emmy Awards, stars definitely wanted to stand out. From notice-me shades like highlighter hues to blinding sparkles, there was certainly a lot to take in. Not that we’re complaining.

There were also plenty of striking accents. We’re talking opera gloves with finger openings to flaunt some serious stiletto nails courtesy of Emma Corrin and Miu Miu. Not to mention a matching bonnet. Kerry Washington rocked a corset-enhanced Etro dress. Plus, go big or go home sleeves a la Sarah Paulson and Billy Porter.

The jewelry game was strong, too. Yara Shahidi’s Cartier necklace almost upstaged her gorgeous green Christian Dior haute couture dress. Then there were the stunning earrings. Take for example Michaela Coel’s perfect pearl danglers.

Keep scrolling to see all the must-see looks from the 2021 Emmy Awards.

When the mercury’s rising, the last thing you want to do is blast your head with a bunch of hot air. Lucky for you, low-maintenance hair has never been (literally) cooler. Even luckier, we’ve got seven tips for air-drying success, so you’ll never end up with a bad hair day.

#1 Start With the Right Cut

If you’re going to air-dry your hair all summer, you’ve got to begin with a low-maintenance hairstyle. Trying to air-dry a fussy cut that usually requires a lot of styling is like hanging a silk, dry clean only dress out to dry on the line. You just can’t expect the same results that you normally get from your round brush and blowdryer or curling iron, so stick with a style that works naturally for your hair. And the next time you go in for a trim, be sure to ask your stylist for a wash-and-wear cut.

#2 Don’t Skip the Conditioner

The secret to perfectly air-dried hair starts in the shower: work in a healthy blob of conditioner to smooth the hair and let it absorb for a few minutes. If you have fine hair and are concerned about limp locks, only apply the conditioner to the ends. If you have thick, coarse or curly hair, don’t be afraid to be heavy-handed with the conditioner near the roots to decrease fluffiness. While you’re still in the shower, detangle from roots to ends with a wide-toothed comb.

#3 Toweling Off Is an Art Form

Resist the urge to vigorously rub your head with a towel to get all the water out, since this roughs up the cuticle, tangles hair and causes major frizz. Instead squeeze and blot hair with an ultra-absorbent microfiber towel (or even a soft, old T-shirt). Don’t twist your hair up in the towel turban-style for the same reason, especially if you want to maintain a natural wave or curl. Practice what curly girls call “plopping” by laying a towel on the ground, flipping your head upside down and plopping your hair on top of it, then roll up the ends of the towel and secure them at the nape of the neck. (There are tons of online videos that can show you how to do this.)

#4 Pick Your Product

Choose a product based on the air-drying results you want. If you have naturally straight hair and want to keep it smooth and silky, apply an anti-humidity serum for frizz control. If you want to emphasize curls, seal them with a lightweight curl cream or leave-in conditioner. If you want your hair to be beachy and textured, spritz in a texturizing spray. Avoid products that will give you that crunchy “wet” look and weigh hair down, like heavy gels and mousses.

#5 Finger-Style

Blowdryer, round brush, curling iron, flat iron…you can count all the heat-styling tools that air-drying will replace on one hand, because all you need for styling an air-dried look is your fingers. To prevent hair from lying flat, lift it away from the roots with your fingers in a zigzag motion to circulate air and help it dry faster. To define curls, use your fingers to twist hair into coils. For loose waves, twist damp hair away from the face into two Princess Leia-style buns and secure with bobby pins while you finish getting dressed and putting on your makeup. Unwrap them just before you leave the house and let them air-dry the rest of the way. For more texture, experiment with letting your hair air-dry in one, two or three braids — depending on the thickness of your hair. (You can also wash your hair at night and sleep in braids or buns to encourage even more texture.)

#6 Blowdry…Just a Little Bit

You don’t have to totally swear off your blowdryer. If you can stand the heat, blowdry just the roots for volume and faster drying, especially if you have very fine hair. If you have thick, curly hair that takes a long time to dry, give it a head start by blasting it with a blowdryer (with the diffuser attachment on, of course). If you have blunt bangs, blowdrying or flat ironing just the bangs will also help to make your air-dried look appear a little more polished.

#7 Go Outside

If you’re tired of waiting around for your hair to dry, harness the power of the sun to help speed things up. Time your washes with outdoor activities or give yourself an excuse to walk to the nearest coffee shop for an iced latte.

If the Met Gala is equivalent to the Oscars in the fashion world, then the Cannes International Film Festival would be like the Golden Globes. Or all of Haute Couture Fashion Week set against the backdrop of the French Riviera. Whatever way you frame it, there’s no denying that the festival produces a cavalcade of luxe gowns from some of the biggest fashion houses around. We’re talking Chanel, Elie Saab, Christian Dior, Versace, Armani…you get the idea. But this year, two of the biggest wow moments came courtesy of two relative unknowns — Michael Cinco and Michael Halpern.

Trains were popular and grand with celebs going to great lengths to make a statement (and causing extra work for those underappreciated dress fluffers). The see-through trend was still going strong, though thankfully, most pieces did a good job camouflaging attendees’ private parts. We saw a few jumpsuits/pantsuits this go-round, mostly pulled off with great aplomb. A couple of wedding dresses found their way to the festival, which surprisingly translated pretty well to the red carpet. For all the top fashion highlights from the past week, check out the jam-packed slideshow above.

Velvet has gotten a bit of a bad rap over the years. Velvet is primed to be big this season thanks to the fall collections, but celebs have already gotten a jump on the fashion trend. From street style to the red carpet and even at Comic-Con, stars have been embracing velvet in a wide manner of styles, from day dresses to bomber jackets to tailored suits. When it came to the fashion at last night’s annual CFDA Fashion Awards, it was a pretty mixed bag. Some attendees favored sparkly ensembles reminiscent of disco days gone by, while others embraced a more 90s throwback theme in the form of slip dresses and chokers. Trends like off-the-shoulder necklines, pajamas and see-through dresses were adequately represented. But the highlight of the evening was probably when Beyoncé hit the stage to accept her Fashion Icon Award outfitted in a decadent embellished suit and oversized hat. Check out who won what below and to see what those lucky enough to score tickets to the ceremony wore, just scroll through the slideshow above.

Members of our forums were left uncertain. “They wasted the opportunity! She is a gorgeous girl, and this could have been a stellar cover if it not for that eye makeup! It’s too heavy for the setting. Had they minimized it, it could have been gorgeous,” MON discredited straight away.

Justaguy wasn’t exactly feeling the makeup either. “Bummed. Was expecting something a lot better than this. The makeup just doesn’t work here. Too harsh with the subtle and soft styling,” he pointed out in frustration.

“I got really excited when I saw her name but this is very disappointing,” added an underwhelmed MyNameIs.

Also a little disappointed with the outcome was A.D.C., posting, “I don’t really see much of a change since Linda Wells was replaced. I was expecting a makeover à la Self magazine!”

It seemed as though Benn98 didn’t rate the efforts of Allure‘s new staff either, echoing, “This is the first cover under [Michelle] Lee which I outright loathe. Everything else is soft except her eye make-up. And just like Amy Adams’ feature, the styling here looks terribly cheap.”

But the cover wasn’t disliked by everyone. “Stunning! I love the 1970s look,” raved Urban Stylin.

“Nice to have a fresh face on the cover!” appreciated Handbag Queen.

The star power in the front rows shined just as bright as the City of Light itself for this edition of Paris Fashion Week. While we weren’t surprised to see certain brand ambassadors and muses pop up at select shows (like Rihanna at Christian Dior along with Cara Delevingne at Chanel), we weren’t expecting to see so much of Maria Sharapova, Janelle Monáe and Jada Pinkett Smith, who each took in several high-profile presentations. Attendees did their best to bring a little Parisian flair to the front rows decked out in everything from luxe sweaters to draped jackets and even some impressive toppers. There’s the wob (wavy lob), the mob (mullet lob) and even the blob (blond lob), but don’t worry too much about the lingo. If the hair reaches somewhere between the chin and the collarbones, it’s a lob. And what was once just a dreaded stage you had to get through when growing out your bob is now the most coveted celebrity haircut. Dakota Johnson, Taylor Swift, Kerry Washington, Jessica Alba and many more good hair icons have said bye-bye to their long locks in favor of a long bob hairstyle.

Why are celebs so obsessed with long bob haircuts? The shoulder-length style is not only super chic and sophisticated, it’s also incredibly versatile. Up or down, bangs or bare, with beachy waves or straight strands, the lob always says, “My haircut is cooler than yours.” Long bob haircuts require a lot less maintenance than your classic jaw-length bob and, if cut to suit your face shape and hair texture, look good on basically everyone. If that doesn’t have you ready to lop off a couple inches, check out 45 of the most inspirational celebrity long bob haircuts above.
