Halsey just dropped her ultimate red carpet secrets on Instagram, revealing how she perfects every jaw-dropping look! She revealed that she has been keeping an About-Face product from everyone. Moreover, it is the one responsible for her long-lasting makeup looks. In the makeup tutorial video, Halsey quickly whipped up a red carpet glam moment, flaunting just how flawlessly her Curtain Call Set & Smooth Loose Powder does its magic.

Halsey recently took to Instagram to introduce her beauty brand’s latest product to her fans. In the video, she revealed the newly launched Curtain Call Set & Smooth Loose Powder. The singer revealed in the clip that she had been keeping the powder product a “secret for so long.” Slipping a cheeky joke in there, she noted that her foundation, The Performer, was tired of performing and needed a Curtain Call. The loose powder goes perfectly with the foundation, ensuring it lasts for about 10 hours for those extra busy days.

The product has a silky powder formula and is talc-free and silicone-free, making it perfect for individuals with sensitive skin. According to the star, it is a natural and organic alternative for people looking for the same. In the makeup tutorial video, Halsey did a full-face red carpet glam to showcase just how flawlessly the loose powder sets everything.

She started her base makeup with The Perfector. However, she emphasized that she wouldn’t use as much as she did in the video for her everyday looks. The singer followed it up with Blush Rush in the shades In the Dust and Hot Lap to bring some color back to her cheeks. She then went in with her Matte Fluid Eye Paint in Hidden Garden for her eyeshadow and Art of Darkness to line her eyes.

The About-Face founder used Brow Artist next, to help fill in her eyebrows. She also jokingly stated that while many claim the album “Badlands” was her best creation, she believes the best thing she made was her mascara. Halsey then used Matte Fix Lip Pencil in After Party to help define her lips. She also used the opportunity to tease a “secret product” for the lips.

Finally, it was time to show Curtain Call Set & Smooth Loose Powder in action. The singer used the shade Veil for her face and Finale for her under-eyes. The baby pink neutralizing powder has a brightening effect, which is perfect for the under-eye area. This makes the result “seamless” and “not cakey”, a makeup that will look gorgeous in red carpet photos.

New York Fashion Week just wrapped. London Fashion Week is a-go. The 2024 Toronto International Film Festival remains in full swing, and last night bestowed upon us the 2024 MTV VMA Awards.

More commonly abbreviated to as the VMAs, this year’s showcase was held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 11, 2024 and commemorated the event’s 40th anniversary. The splashy showcase of the best musical talents from across the globe, the night generated performances from Sabrina Carpenter (who performed at the award show for the second year in a row, and embraced all things space and extraterrestrial), Shawn Mendes (performing Nobody Knows) and Chappell Roan who took to the stage in medieval battle gear.

Earlier in the night, it was the red carpet arrivals at the 2024 MTV VMA Awards which truly commanded our attention most. Sabrina Carpenter dazzled upon her arrival, having opted for a vintage beaded Bob Mackie creation, originally worn by Madonna to the 1991 Oscars. Taylor Swift (becoming the most decorated solo artist of all time at the ceremony) opted for a plaid Christian Dior number and gave the iconic Cher Horowitz Clueless look a punk rock twist. Elsewhere on the red carpet, Addison Rae turned heads in a custom white set from Miss Claire Sullivan.

We have to admit that we always expect the unexpected when it comes to red carpet fashion at the Grammy Awards. This year we were surprised at the relatively tame nature of most of the looks. Sure, there were a few crazy getups. But most attendees at the 2022 Grammy Awards opted to go glam. Not that we’re complaining.

Lady Gaga and Halsey went Old Hollywood rocking Armani Privé and Pressiat, respectively. Olivia Rodrigo’s Vivienne Westwood gown was enhanced by opera gloves and chokers. Tiffany Haddish sparkled in a glitzy Prada number. Dua Lipa’s elaborate black dress was instantly recognizable as a Versace thanks to all the Medusa accents. And H.E.R. took inspiration from Aretha Franklin for her custom Dundas jumpsuit.

Some stars took a more minimal approach. Hailey Bieber wore a sleek Saint Laurent column gown. Her layered necklace and delicate earrings were also pretty understated. The strappy neckline of Lily Aldridge’s black dress was anything but basic. It also perfectly complemented those strappy sandals.

A couple of suits really turned heads. Brandi Carlile’s Hugo Boss ensemble was blinged out, including the waistband and sides of the trousers. Elle King topped off her red set with an enormous hat.

The Victoria’s Secret drama is far from over. Numerous celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, and competitor ThirdLove have spoken out against the company after offensive comments about transgender people and plus size women were made by Ed Razek, Chief Marketing Officer of Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands. Now, singer Halsey has released a fervent message against the brand. 

After performing at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which aired this past Sunday, Halsey took to Instagram to state her regret for supporting the brand: “Performing this year alongside other amazing artists and hardworking models/friends was supposed to be the best night of my year. However, after I filmed the performance some comments were made regarding the show that I simply cannot ignore.”

The singer directs people’s attention to GLSEN, an organization that supports LGBTQ+ youth, adding that she has made a donation in honor of those youth who have been made to feel “other.” Halsey’s statement concludes with, “If you are a trans person reading this, and these comments have made you feel alienated or invalidated please know that you have allies. We stand in solidarity, and complete and total acceptance is the only ‘fantasy’ that I support…”

It’s hard to know if the lack of interest is due to the recent controversy, critiques of lack of diversity and inclusiveness, or plummeting sales. What we do know is, it’s time for some major changes at Victoria’s Secret — if it’s not too late.
